Patient Advocacy Manager (Mexico City) - 12 month FTC

This individual will be a part of the LATAM Patient Advocacy function leading the advocacy efforts for Mexico and Central America. The Manager works in close collaboration with the local Mexican team to lead the development and execution of the local advocacy plan that reflects the priorities and needs of the business. Externally, the Manager of Patient Advocacy will develop productive partnerships and facilitate dialogue with patient advocacy groups to further mutual interests and transform the care of patients. Internally, this role will be responsible for incorporating the patient voice into the everyday operations of the company, nurturing Ultragenyx's resolute sense of urgency and patient-focused culture.
Work Model:
Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite. This is a Fixed Term Contract for an initial period of 12 months.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact with patient organizations in Mexico, Central America, and Ultragenyx.
- Interact with appropriate staff to facilitate the coordination of local tactics specific to patient advocacy.
- Hold meetings/teleconferences with key stakeholders prioritized in advocacy strategies to leverage national advocacy resources and ensure alignment with development priorities and efforts to enhance program awareness and patient support.
- Attend key events/meetings/conferences and conduct surveys and research to generate new patient referrals.
- Analyze advocacy group resources needs to help identify gaps in disease awareness resources and facilitate the information requirements of prioritized advocacy groups.
- Represent patient perspective during planning strategy meetings and contribute to the successful implementation and achievement of objectives.
- Identify and prioritize all patient organizations and affiliated healthcare professional groups that may serve as channels for advocacy engagement, leading outreach to patients/physicians and reporting on key metrics.
- Manage critical relationships with stakeholders and patient advocacy groups through the compliant exchange of complex scientific information related to Ultragenyx’s research, product development, and (eventual) commercialization efforts.
- Support and oversee the NPP (Named Patient Program) process as needed.
- This position will maintain a primary focus on supporting Mexico and Central America.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management and Advocacy
- Experience with NPP access processes in Mexico.
- Experience of NGO management
- Deep understanding of patient personal information management and relevant legislation for patient interactions.
- Experience in Patient Support Programs a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, psychology, or NGO management.
- Fluency in English and Spanish. #LI-CT1#LI-Hybrid
