Position Summary:

ultrafocused – Work together to fearlessly uncover new possibilities

The UCL is a member of a field team of clinically focused professionals who will function within Ultragenyx commercial operations. UCL are responsible for delivering disease education, creating company awareness, and assist with patient identification within the medical community related specifically to Ultragenyx therapy access programs. The UCL will manage patient identification initiatives, support local Name Patients Program (NPP) effort. UCL responsibilities will also include capturing and maintaining data within our CRM system. This field-based position requires a professional with established personal and scientific credibility to interact with clinicians and community-based offices. The position involves travel of more than 75%. ultraimpact – Make a difference for those who need it most

Work Model:

Field: Officially documented as working as a member of the Ultragenyx field team, generally interacting with third parties on behalf of Ultragenyx.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive clinical knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas, and evolving clinical landscape related to our portfolio.
  • Manage patient identification, diagnosis and therapy access process.
  • Initiate and increase genetic testing to help identify patients with ultra-rare and rare diseases.
  • Closely monitor Name Patients Programs (NPP).
  • Perform duties around territory management and upkeep of CRM system, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Increase disease awareness related to targeted physicians and accurately document findings appropriately in the CRM.
  • Collaborate within Medical Affairs Team to deliver focused responses to external requests for medical-scientific information regarding our client’s products/portfolio.
  • Represent the physician/market, field perspective for use during planning and strategy meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams.
  • Establish and coordinate a health care partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Serve on cross-functional teams, as requested, for our client, as a conduit for accurate and updated medical/market communication, medical/market intelligence, emerging clinical trends, and HCP feedback.
  • Self-directed territory management and travel to ensure that targets are reached in an efficient manner.
  • Mentor, advice and train other new UCLs.
  • Be compliant with Ultragenyx Code of Conduct, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business, MBA and/or Medical Degree
  • Rare Diseases and business skills experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry required.
  • Passionate about helping patients to get the right diagnosis and to gain access to the best treatment.
  • Relevant experience in the rare disease space encompassing patient identification and establishment of KOL networks is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Will consider credentialed candidates with current relevant clinical experience within the rare disease space (RD, RN, GC)
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as build rapport with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be action-oriented, a problem solver, patient and customer focused possess excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual- Portuguese and English preferable.
  • Position is field based and will require 75% travel including overnight business travel. #LI-CK1 #LI-Remote
