Echodyne is seeking a Supply Chain Commodity Manager to join our fast-growing team.
At Echodyne, we believe radar makes the world safer and more secure in the age of autonomy. We are seeking a Supply Chain Commodity Manager with experience in managing a supplier base for custom mechanical parts, COTS parts, custom cable assemblies, accessories, and MRO parts.
As a Supply Chain Commodity Manager, you will be working in a fast-paced, regulated environment developing next generation RADAR systems. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Supply Chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor supplier performance and provide management level support for Buyers and Sr Buyers
- Lead special projects (such as DPAS Coordination, Customer or Industry Audits, etc.) within the Supply Chain team as directed by the Sr Director of Supply Chain
- Serve as Supply Chain team lead on Legal and Trade Compliance issues in coordination with Echodyne Legal and Trade Compliance teams.
- Effectively assess and mitigate supplier risk, escalate concerns as necessary
- Assist in finding alternative sources of supply, such as approved brokers, when necessary
- Lead supplier SBRs (Strategic Business Reviews), mentor Buyers and Sr Buyers in the process
- Serve as Supply Chain spokesperson in cross-functional internal meetings
- Identify and develop new sources of supply to support Echodyne’s strong growth plans
- Lead creation and maintenance of supplier contracts and LTAs (long-term agreements)
- Participate in onsite supplier visits to monitor capacity, quality, and on-time delivery objectives (travel up to 25%)
- Identify cost savings opportunities with existing and developing suppliers
- Advanced level pricing and schedule negotiations with suppliers
- Serve as a knowledgeable, experienced resource both within and outside the department
- Handle various advanced level projects within the group as assigned by Sr. Director, Supply Chain
- Assist in development of company tools and business systems/reports
- Travel up to 25%
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Experience in managing the purchasing and material planning processes for commodities such as machined metal parts, COTS parts, custom cable assemblies, molded plastic/metal, hardware, outplant services, accessories, and MRO items
- Understanding of BOMs, BOM structures, and MTS (Made To Spec) drawings and documentation
- Understanding of PLM and configuration management
- Knowledge of DPAS flow down requirements
- Experience in Oracle NetSuite or equivalent ERP for creation and management of
- all aspects of the supply chain (Planning/Buying/Building/Shipping)
- Experience working in a regulated industry (ISO, AS9100, etc.)
- Ability to take high level direction and be self-managed
- Effective communication skills
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to improve processes
- Ability to make smart trade-offs as business needs and environments change
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with various groups
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Supply Chain/Procurement Management role
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- Equivalent combination of experience and education
