About us
Tractive is the most trusted name for keeping cats and dogs safe and healthy. The secret to our success? A team of truly unique individuals who care about each other just as much as going the extra mile for pet parents. Want to be part of our story? Check out this role and see if you’re a good match!
Your territory
As part of our Data team, you will:
Own Tractive's end-to-end tracking across iOS, Android, and web — defining how Live Tracking, Virtual Fences, PSZs, and Health Monitoring are measured so teams can make decisions they trust
Design and evolve our event taxonomy and KPI frameworks, ensuring every meaningful moment - an escape alert, a health alert, a subscription - is captured consistently and privacy-compliantly
Implement and maintain web tracking using Google Tag Manager and JavaScript - instrumenting events, debugging, and ensuring reliable data collection in production
Build scalable analytics assets in BigQuery, dbt, or similar tools that answer questions like "How does PSZ adoption affect retention?" or "What drives free-to-premium conversion?"
Lead cross-functional initiatives end-to-end - from rethinking feature adoption measurement to building an experimentation framework for onboarding and core flows
Own the tracking ecosystem - versioning, naming conventions, and QA gates - so the whole company speaks the same measurement language
Bring in your fresh ideas to make Tractive better - you'll never hear the phrase "...because that's how we've always done things"
Continuously grow personally and professionally, take ownership of areas that show your potential, and attend workshops which help you get to the next level
Your profile
Key requirements:
At least five years of professional experience with app and web tracking - Firebase, Google Analytics, or comparable platforms - and a solid grasp of event-based measurement across iOS and Android
Hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager and a deep understanding of SDK implementation, consent frameworks, and how tracking survives real-world release cycles
Strong SQL skills and experience with Redshift, BigQuery, or similar cloud data warehouses; experience with Dataform or dbt for building analytics models is a real plus
Strong experience in implementing marketing pixels, campaign tracking (UTMs), and attribution setups
Solid experience writing and maintaining JavaScript in production environments (e.g. implementing tracking logic, custom events, data layer interactions, or debugging tracking behavior in the browser)
A technical mindset is essential: you're comfortable reading code, understand how apps are built and released, and can collaborate with engineers as a peer - not just as a stakeholder
Project management skills and comfort with ticket systems like Jira - you plan ahead, communicate blockers early, and make sure stakeholders are never surprised
Experience with Looker Studio or similar BI tools, ideally including governance of tracking plans and measurement standards at scale
Very good English skills
