About us
Tractive is the most trusted name for keeping cats and dogs safe and healthy. The secret to our success? A team of truly unique individuals who care about each other just as much as going the extra mile for pet parents. Want to be part of our story? Check out this role and see if you’re a good match!
Your territory
As part of our Data team, you will:
Design and drive the next generation of Tractive activity, safety and health features used by pet parents around the world. With millions of devices already in the field, your ML systems will deliver visible impact at scale and push the boundaries of what pet health technology can do.
Transform data into product by turning user problems into concrete ML/AI features - like our scratch monitoring model - and owning the full lifecycle from first prototype to running code in production
Work with a huge real world dataset and validate your models at a scale that only a few companies can offer
Build for production by designing scalable, resilient algorithms and services that behave reliably in live environments - not just in a notebook
Boost your productivity with AI by using modern AI engineering tools (for example Cursor, Claude Code) and protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) to keep development fast and future proof
Coach teammates, share patterns and help establish engineering best practices within the team
Raise the bar for quality with thoughtful code reviews, solid testing and a long term mindset for architecture and maintainability
Bring in your fresh ideas to make Tractive better - you’ll never hear the phrase “...because that’s how we’ve always done things”
Continuously grow personally and professionally, take ownership of areas that show your potential, and attend workshops which help you get to the next level
Your profile

Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, plus hands on experience with the common Data Science and ML stack (for example pandas, scikit learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, MLflow)
Experience with modern AI tooling, including coding assistants (for example Cursor, Claude Code), Model Context Protocol (MCP) or comparable frameworks
Solid grasp of software engineering best practices, including Git, CI/CD and monitoring or operationalizing models in production
