About Ultra
Ultra builds industrial AI robots that are working in the real world today. Our robots automate mission-critical warehouse labor end-to-end, starting with e-commerce order packaging. We deploy fast, learn from real production data, and iterate aggressively. We already have multiple revenue-generating robots operating in U.S. warehouses, and are now scaling toward hundreds of deployments over the next couple years. Our goal is simple: build the most advanced, most productive industrial AI robots on the planet.
Overview
We’re seeking a Supply Chain & Manufacturing Engineer to join our NYC-based team and own the flow of parts and production for our robots. You’ll sit at the center of procurement, inventory, and manufacturing—ensuring we always have the right parts, at the right cost, in the right place to build and deploy robots fast. We are an early stage company moving very fast in a rapidly growing space, and welcome people from any background as long as you’re excited to join our mission, drive immediate impact, and help make automation accessible to all.
What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain the full BOM: accuracy, version control, and part accountability across every design iteration
- Manage procurement end-to-end: sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, and ensuring reliable supply
- Build and run inventory systems; lead demand planning and forecasting to keep builds on schedule
- Source new components as designs evolve and make strong build-vs-buy decisions
- Handle logistics: carrier management, shipping, and international imports including customs
- Help design and stand up our manufacturing line — stations, workflows, and material flow
- Work closely with technicians to keep builds running and stations stocked
Who You Are
- Highly operational and detail-oriented — you bring order to complex systems of parts, vendors, and processes
- An owner, not just an executor — if parts are missing or builds are blocked, you fix it
- Scrappy, resourceful, and energized by fast-paced, high-autonomy environments
- Comfortable spanning procurement, logistics, and hands-on manufacturing
- You think in cost, speed, and quality — and know how to balance all three
Experience and Skills
- Experience managing BOMs, procurement, and/or inventory in a hardware or manufacturing environment
- Strong supplier management: sourcing, negotiation, and relationship building
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations, demand planning, and inventory optimization
- Exposure to logistics, international shipping, and customs
- Comfortable working hands-on alongside hardware teams and technicians
- Bonus: Experience with contract manufacturing or scaling beyond in-house production
