About Ultra

Ultra builds industrial AI robots that are working in the real world today. Our robots automate mission-critical warehouse labor end-to-end, starting with e-commerce order packaging. We deploy fast, learn from real production data, and iterate aggressively. We already have multiple revenue-generating robots operating in U.S. warehouses, and are now scaling toward hundreds of deployments over the next couple years. Our goal is simple: build the most advanced, most productive industrial AI robots on the planet.

Overview

We’re looking for a Robot Lab Manager to keep our humanoid robot lab running through the night shift. This is a hands-on role — you’ll be responsible for fault response, minor repairs, and making sure the day team has what they need to hit the ground running. You will be solely responsible for the robot lab throughout the night. Your main focus is to keep the robots and our team of remote teleoperators working to farm data.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to robot faults and get stations back online.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs (cables, connectors, diagnosing motor issues, fixture adjustments).
  • Reset test environments between sessions.
  • Interpret logs and write clear handoff notes for the engineering team.
  • Keep the lab stocked and organized.
  • Perform inventory management tasks and keep our 3D printer farm running.
  • Audit and produce pilot performance reports.

Who You Are

Mechanically inclined and comfortable working independently. You take ownership of problems without needing someone looking over your shoulder. A strong written communicator — your fault notes are what engineering reads at 8AM. You are passionate about maintaining reliable systems and do not shy away from consistently logging issues to make a better product.

Experience and Skills

2+ years in a lab, manufacturing, or electromechanical environment. Comfortable with hand tools, light mechanical repair, and electrical work. Able to read system logs or error output and draw reasonable conclusions. Clear, concise written communicator. Experience with 3D printers is a plus!
