Our Operations Team is seeking a Senior Planning & Inventory Manager to lead the development and execution of TrellisWare's integrated production and inventory plans. This position serves as the primary planning expert responsible for balancing customer demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity, and inventory investment to ensure successful execution across the supply chain.

This is a highly collaborative individual contributor role that works closely with Sales, Program Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations Engineering, Finance, and Quality to develop accurate production plans and inventory strategies. The position provides the operational visibility and analytical insight necessary to enable informed business decisions while supporting predictable customer deliveries and scalable business growth.

The essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Production Planning
    • Develop and maintain the integrated production plan across all product lines.
    • Translate customer demand into executable manufacturing schedules.
    • Balance demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity, and inventory objectives.
    • Maintain production priorities and communicate schedule changes across the organization.
    • Support production readiness through accurate planning and schedule management.
  • Demand & Supply Planning
    • Consolidate customer forecasts, sales demand, backlog, and program requirements into a single operating plan.
    • Monitor demand trends and recommend adjustments to production plans.
    • Evaluate capacity constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Coordinate planning activities across Procurement, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
  • Inventory Management
    • Develop inventory strategies that support customer delivery while optimizing inventory investment.
    • Monitor inventory health, shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving material.
    • Recommend safety stock levels and inventory policies.
    • Analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Operational Analysis
    • Develop production planning metrics and performance dashboards.
    • Analyze demand variability, forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and schedule adherence.
    • Identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions.
    • Support executive reviews with planning analytics and operational reporting.
  • Cross Functional Coordination
    • Partner with Manufacturing & Logistics to support execution of the production schedule.
    • Work closely with Procurement to ensure material availability.
    • Coordinate with Operations Engineering during New Product Introductions and engineering changes.
    • Support Sales and Program Management with customer delivery commitments.
    • Collaborate with Finance on inventory planning and operational forecasts.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Improve planning processes, tools, and reporting capabilities.
    • Support ERP/MRP optimization initiatives.
    • Recommend improvements that increase planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
    • Develop standardized planning methodologies and documentation.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Develop relationships with team members built on trust, accountability, and respect.

Education and work experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related discipline required. APICS CPIM certification preferred.
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in production planning, supply planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong ERP/MRP planning system experience.
  • Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes preferred.

TrellisWare Technologies pays competitively according to the market in an individual's geographic location, in addition to their qualifications and experience. The posted range is annually and for individuals located in the San Diego, CA area.

San Diego, California Pay Range
$110,000$155,000 USD
