Our Customer Support Team is seeking a hybrid/remote Sales Engineer. You would be responsible for providing technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products. The Sales Engineer will assist the Business Development team in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and will prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
The role may involve building a mini application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid product demo for client, and providing product capability assessment and validation. You will be responsible for ensuring that the product application/solution functions according to specifications, and providing follow-up support to company sales account managers and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
In addition, the Sales Engineer will work closely with the customer from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation. The ability to seamlessly integrate TrellisWare products with other customer systems and maximize network performance is ideal. You must also be capable of analyzing, troubleshooting, and fixing network performance issues through monitoring and troubleshooting systems. The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Provides pre-sales, post-sales, and customer support for all TrellisWare product offerings both onsite and remotely.
- Provides customers with custom tailored communications solutions for their specific systems.
- Supports sales and business development leads in securing of new business; field troubleshooting of products and integrations; and trade show booth duty support.
- Evaluate customer requirements and determine technical configurations and generate product quotations in coordination with sales management.
- Craft and deliver technical presentations of TrellisWare offerings to new and existing customers.
- Supports field demonstrations, product training, integration with 3rd party accessories (antennas, headsets, power sources, cameras, microphones, etc.), applications (voice, IP data, video, etc.) and product documentation. A strong emphasis on IP networking is a must.
- Draft's demonstration and application sample white papers as needed as well as assesses new accessories or applications capable of extending the effectiveness of company products.
- Performs technical and integration support of sales pursuits, trade shows, customer demonstrations and field exercises, and documents both interesting field accomplishments as well as any observed anomalies.
- Supports related product documentation throughout the product line.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and work experience requirements are:
- Four-year technical degree or military related service experience equivalent
- At least 5+ years related experience in the market or technology segments identified.
- Demonstrates track record in fielding and troubleshooting RF systems and networked communications products.
- Knowledge of configuration, operation, and maintenance of tactical communication systems or TrellisWare products.
- Experience in Special Forces, Military, and/or commercial specialty communications communities are highly desired.
To be considered for this position, you would need to meet, at a minimum, the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed here:
- Strong understanding of IP data including addressing schemes, IP switches/router interface, gateway functionality, TCP/UDP protocols and the best methods for transfer over data pipe.
- Understands the military communications markets and their deployment practices. Familiarity with how the military utilizes MANET networks for communications.
- Demonstrates strong documentation skills and proficient with PC office applications.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical integration for when customers decide they want to integrate radios into cars, or aircraft, or ships, etc.
- Ability to understand complex communication and engineering concepts and explain them to customers in simple, understandable ways.
- Demonstrates familiarity with the design, manufacturing, testing, and sales procedures for volume handheld and embedded radio products.
- Demonstrates familiarity with wideband networked military and commercial communication products and government contracting.
- Works independently, demonstrates initiative and interacts with a variety of engineering development teams, acquisition/procurement specialists and communications and/or networking product users.
