About Terra AI
We are building the state-of-the-art AI platform for the discovery and development of clean energy and mineral resources. We bring the most advanced techniques in generative AI, foundation modeling, and autonomous decision optimization to tackle the most important problems in the geosciences. These systems can help more reliably identify critical resource deposits, more rapidly measure and characterize them, and design more efficient and sustainable production plans.
We are backed by Khosla Ventures and other leading venture investors. We are now looking to grow our team from ~15 to ~30 by the end of the year to continue to mature our technology and support deployment with our world-class mineral and clean energy partners.
Role
Own delivery for Terra AI’s customer-facing technical engagements. These projects look like technical consulting services: highly technical, multi-stakeholder, and outcome-driven. You will be the designated “responsible individual” who ensures projects execute cleanly, stay aligned to scope, and land with the customer.
This role requires enough technical fluency to coordinate across multiple subject matter experts (geology, geophysics, geospatial, ML/AI, data science, and software engineering), learn the language quickly, and surface issues early. You do not need a geology background. A stronger base in data science or technical product delivery is a plus.
Core responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple enterprise client projects, owning day-to-day project management and ensuring successful delivery against defined scopes, timelines, and outcomes.
Drive execution across internal subject matter experts, coordinating work across disciplines and keeping the team unblocked.
Track and manage timelines, budgets, dependencies, and KPIs/OKRs; set expectations early and keep them current as projects evolve.
Proactively manage project health, including scope, schedule, risks, and client expectations; surface issues early and coordinate resolutions to keep engagements on track.
Facilitate the delivery of professional services in a scientific and technical setting (geology, geophysics, geospatial data, ML/AI, data science, and software engineering).
Run structured internal and external meetings: agendas, notes, decisions, action items, owners, and follow-through.
Build trusted client relationships through clear communication, structured status reporting, and thoughtful facilitation.
Ensure delivery quality by confirming the customer is getting the evidence and outputs they need, and by catching gaps early in the technical workstream.
Contribute to playbooks, tools, and templates so Terra AI can run more client engagements in parallel while maintaining high standards.
Support business development by helping create project plans, budgets, and timelines, and by identifying follow-on opportunities as trust builds.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience as a project manager, delivery lead, or account/program manager, ideally in a client-facing role within professional services and/or SaaS.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects in scientific or data-driven environments (for example: ML/AI, data science, geospatial systems, engineering software, or adjacent technical consulting).
Strong technical fluency: able to build a working mental model of the system, coordinate experts, and triage issues without being the domain expert yourself.
High ownership and bias toward execution: you relentlessly follow up, close loops, and keep projects moving.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail across parallel workstreams.
Strong written and verbal communication, including with enterprise customers and deep subject experts.
Nice to have
Experience managing delivery for technical consulting or professional services engagements.
Familiarity with machine learning or data science workflows (helpful for spotting gaps in the delivery of the technical product).
Experience building or improving delivery operations: templates, status cadences, RAID logs, project health dashboards, or similar systems.
Comfort working in ambiguous environments where scope sharpens through execution.
