We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the quality Control Level 1 role at our food manufacturing facility located at 90 Stemmers Lane, Westampton, NJ 08060. The primary responsibilities of this role is monitoring and inspecting established food safety and quality assurance functions in support of our commitment to our customers and our Mission Statement. This position is expected to interact across inter-departmental boundaries in a professional manner that exemplifies a collaborative spirit.

What will you be doing:

  • Ensure all Quality Control SOPs, SSOPs and GMPs for our production center are followed by other team members.
  • Follow basic food safety practices, both preventative and responsive as instructed by the Leadership Team.
  • Assess risk and categorize it according to likelihood and severity.
  • Create and conduct process audits, inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Accurately assess, document, and share the results of testing acidity of products using a pH meter.
  • Assess, document, and share the results of environmental monitoring using a luminometer.
  • Perform a root cause analysis and suggest corrective actions to the Department Manager.
  • Ability to give oral presentations on training materials in a group setting.
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high quality in products and throughout the production cycle.
  • Document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Maintain an active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Provide support in all areas related to lab and testing of products for quality control purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Who you are and why you're right for us:

  • Demonstrate experience in quality assurance or quality control environment in a food production facility.
  • Working knowledge of USDA and FDA food regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical functions in a food processing environment of at least 40 degrees in temperature.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload
  • Ability to read and follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately in English
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and flexibility required
  • Strong computer skills and basic math skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Must uphold and follow workplace safety, food safety, and production quality standards
  • Ability to work in high stress/fast-paced environment with multiple change-over’s
  • Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts and overtime as required; even on short notice
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in group settings, be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (-9º-42º Fahrenheit) for 8 or more hours and in some instances, in a dark environment
