Requirements

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience in a senior, lead, or architect-level role
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience designing, building, and operating MCP servers to integrate and replace legacy systems
  • Proficiency with front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., React, Node.js, Python, or similar)
  • Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
  • Comfortable with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of scalable, production-grade system design and common failure modes at scale
  • Deep understanding of system-wide visibility (cloud services, security, inter-service dependencies, and observability)
  • Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English

Nice-to-haves

  • Startup experience
  • Experience with data pipelines or ML infrastructure
  • Background in workforce development or edtech platforms
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

What you will work on

  • This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) for a short-term (3-month) contract
  • Design and own the platform architecture, including data models, API design, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Build and ship full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure layers
  • Design and maintain the DevOps lifecycle: containerization, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and cloud environments
  • Collaborate with product and leadership on build-vs-buy decisions, technical risk assessment, and architectural direction
  • Set and enforce standards for code quality, security, and performance across the engineering team
