About the role

We are looking for a remote generalist senior frontend engineer to join our early team to build our product from zero to one. This role will work closely with our product and design team as well as the rest of our engineering team to build the user-facing aspects of the Starbridge platform. You'll figure out ways to build highly performant, stable frontends that allow us to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and create structures that allow us to build and iterate quickly and be responsive to customer feedback.

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have 7+ years of software engineering experience working on modern web ecosystems.

  • Have 5+ years of experience with React, Typescript, Javascript, RESTful API, CSS, and other front-end technologies.

  • Are a team player who is excited to do what it takes to make the team successful. You're proactive both in how you work and how you communicate.

  • Are comfortable in a work environment that blends sync and async communication and work.

  • Set the highest possible UX and UI bar for the work you do.

  • Understands how code can affect performance and how to measure and optimize the work you do.

Preferably, you also have experience with at least some of the following:

  • Experience as a technical lead making architectural design decisions.

  • Github CI/CD.

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute phone interview during which a member of our team will make sure you're a good fit for the role. You will have the opportunity ask questions and learn more about the role as well.

If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of three interviews:

  1. Experience, theory, and system design.

  2. Live coding.

  3. Product thinking and past work.

Our goal is to finish the process within one week. We don’t rely on recruiters for assessments. Every application is reviewed by a member of our technical team. All interviews will be conducted via Zoom.

Compensation Range: $100K - $125K
