As Scout’s Real Estate Associate, you will help Scout deliver on its commitments to an important group of business partners, landowners, while working closely with internal and external Land Agents, Project Managers, Real Estate Title, and Development Legal teams. You will report directly to the Real Estate Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination with Developers and Accounts Payable related to landowner lease and payment processing.
  • Serve as a resource to internal & external administrative personnel regarding lease processing, partaking in the process as well when needed.
  • Support the ongoing development and standardization of Land Agent onboarding protocol. See that Land Agents are uniformly and adequately onboarded, credentialed, outfitted, and receive Salesforce training.
  • By yourself or with assistance from others, develop useful reporting and dashboarding resources within Salesforce. Ensure stakeholders have access to them and provide periodic Salesforce training to aid in the adoption of Salesforce.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of Real Estate processes and best practices to ensure effective and efficient support of the Development and other Subject Matter Expert teams.
  • Interface with external title vendors and internal stakeholders, effectively communicating priorities and issues
  • With guidance from Senior Director of Land or Real Estate Manager, serve as Scout’s Real Estate point of contact for one or more Land Campaigns. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external land agents to acquire the leases and land necessary for your assigned project(s). Assist with landowner negotiations and redline processes as needed.
  • Represent Scout in meetings with local officials and/or landowner groups to discuss Scout’s project as it relates to their jurisdiction(s) or property(ies).
  • 1-2 years of experience in the Renewable Energy and/or Land Acquisition field, or a combination of Land Experience, education, and relevant transferrable experience
  • Self-motivator with exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and to project sites on occasion, up to 25%, and be capable of working outside of normal business hours when traveling.

Education & Certifications:

No specific formal education, certifications, or trainings are required; however, preference may be given to those with some of the following, all else being equal:

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Political Science, Geography, Agricultural Sciences, or Environmental Sciences
  • AAPL or International Right of Way Association member, training, and/or credentials
  • Training, credentials, credits, and membership from the American Land Title Association or similar professional organizations relating to land records
  • Paralegal or legal experience
  • Farming and/or ranching experience
  • Salesforce, ArcGIS, Excel, PowerPoint, Word proficiency.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without Sponsorship

Timeline and Location

The target start date for this role is Q4 2025.

Our ideal candidate will be able to work out of our Boulder, CO, office, at least three days a week.

Compensation

Target base salary: $60,000-$70,000 Attractive bonus potential.
