About the Role:
The Laboratory Sample Coordinator position will be responsible for supporting receiving, accessioning, processing, and shipping of various sample types under close supervision of senior laboratory personnel including laboratory management. You will be trained by the laboratory team on supporting the laboratory team including sample accessioning, sample storage, sample packaging, sample sendout, sample quality reporting, sample data management. Other assigned duties may include reagent creation, quality control, coordinating data requests, and utilization of a laboratory information management system (LIMS). This role will also require excellent communication skills, detail orientation, and the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures. Collaboration with the laboratory team and internal ops team members will be required to complete assigned tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Receive, document, and accession incoming biospecimen sample shipments in accordance with company SOPs and direction from lab supervisors
  • Prepare and ship biological samples following company SOPs and IATA standard while maintaining and updating accurate laboratory inventory records
  • Complete general laboratory tasks including reagent preparation, stock fulfillment, and other preparatory/support duties
  • Sample data management
  • Field and coordinate sample shipment requests from other departments
  • Maintain accurate records of specimen storage, distribution, and transfers
  • Handle incoming and outgoing packages that may include tracking laboratory inventory, maintaining accurate records, packaging items, printing labels, inspecting shipments for damage, and distributing products to other departments according to company’s policies and standards
  • Follow all laboratory safety and compliance standards in accordance with company policies and SOPs
  • Perform routine quality work on specimens and related documentation
  • Maintain sample records
  • Other special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Associate’s Degree or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least 1 year of experience in a life science laboratory environment
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Knowledge of process or utility equipment/system maintenance.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards
  • Must be able to work in a BSL-2 Lab setting with biohazards /various chemicals.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPEs.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Working Schedule:
  • Availability and flexibility to work a variety of full-time shifts Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7am to 7pm is highly desirable. Including but not limited to the hours of 8am to 4:30pm is highly desirable.
  • This is an hourly role with overtime eligibility based on business needs.
  • Must be available to work on weekends if needed.
Pay:
  • $20-$22/Hour
