Why this role matters:
Rove is building software that allows property owners and managers to increase income, build transparency, and streamline operations for luxury rentals globally. You will architect and ship world class software that makes that true: a delightful owner portal, bulletproof operations tooling, and a channel manager that drives revenue across Rove/Airbnb/VRBO/Booking.com and beyond — at a price and polish no incumbent offers due to our unique monetization strategy.
What you’ll own & do:
- Build a beautiful, performant property operating system implement the engineering principles you want.
- Own customer insights and analytics: be the point person for owner relations, running discovery loops with owners and internal ops and implementing analytics.
- Set product strategy & roadmap: onboarding, calendar & rate sync, multi-OTA distribution, trust/insurance tooling, payments & statements, tax/compliance, analytics, and more.
- Testing + QA: design best practices and and own end to end testing
- Hands-on building: write code (React/Next.js, Node/TypeScript, AWS/Postgres), stand up infra, own CI/CD, QA, observability, and security.
- Create the engineering culture: coding standards, review practices, incident response, velocity metrics—built for speed without sacrificing reliability.
- Hire & lead the team: recruit exceptional full-stack engineers, PMs, and designers; coach a high-ownership, low-ego culture.
- Scale systems that support thousands of properties, real-time pricing updates, and financial accuracy.
12 months from now, success looks like:
- Product-market fit for Rove’s property operating system. Owner’s in each of our core markets are clamoring to onboard; outbound sales feels like magic. We’re scaling our team as fast as possible to keep up — everyone wants better software for free.
- Owner NPS and retention are meaningfully up; churn down. Revenue is scaling from our OTA (Rovetravel.com).
Who we're look for:
- 4+ years software engineering experience building products.
- AND 3+ years shipping product end-to-end (PM or Eng lead wearing PM hat).
- Graduated from a top collegiate computer science program.
- Are a player/coach: comfortable hopping from Figma to code reviews and Terraform.
- Prioritize product speed over perfection, but still obsess over trust & reliability (security, correctness, uptime).
- Love modern tooling but apply it pragmatically.
- Have strong product taste and instinct for when to delight vs. when to automate quietly.
- Bonus: hospitality/real estate/fintech experience and passion; data and BI chops.
