Who we are:

"DV Scibids" is a global leader in AI-powered digital campaign activation. Scibids AI empowers global brands to drive specific KPIs and tangible outcomes more effectively while improving operational efficiency and reducing manual lift. DV technology does not rely on digital identifiers such as cookies and can be activated across leading Demand-Side Platforms such as The Trade Desk and DV360 (Google / YouTube), to mention a few.

DV provides end-to-end, comprehensive measurement and granular optimization. DV is the recognized market innovator with the technology and tools that accurately authenticate the quality of digital media and drive ad performance for the world’s largest brands. DV provides media transparency and accountability to deliver the highest level of impression quality for maximum advertising performance. Since 2008, DV has helped hundreds of Fortune 500 companies gain the most from their media spend by delivering best-in-class solutions across the digital ecosystem that help build a better industry. The Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own and build critical data and integration capabilities at the core of DV Scibids’ product expansion. You will explore partner APIs, help Product and Engineering evaluate technical opportunities and constraints, and build reliable services and data flows on top of those integrations. You will also expose internal endpoints for other DV teams, consume and reconcile data from systems across DV, and work with very large datasets generated by adtech auction environments.

This position combines strong software engineering fundamentals, a product mindset, curiosity for external systems, and the ability to design pragmatic, scalable data solutions in a complex ecosystem.

What you will do:

  • Explore, evaluate, and integrate external partner APIs to support DV Scibids product expansion.
  • Work closely with Product to clarify what partner platforms technically allow, identify constraints early, and help shape product decisions accordingly.
  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and endpoints consumed by other DV teams.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines and services that ingest, transform, and reconcile data from partner platforms and internal DV systems.
  • Work with massive datasets generated by digital advertising auctions and build systems that remain reliable and performant at scale.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and other Engineering teams to bridge business needs, platform capabilities, and Scibids optimization logic.
  • Operate production systems, investigate issues, assess impact, and implement durable fixes.
  • Continuously release features using automated deployment tools and infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
  • Improve observability, reliability, and maintainability of the systems you own.
  • Provide code reviews, contribute to system design discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Partner with AI platform teams to enable deployment of agentic solutions

Who you are:

  • You have 3+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a similar role.
  • You have strong programming skills in Python and SQL; experience with Java, Rust, or similar languages is a plus.
  • You have experience integrating with external APIs and building production services on top of them.
  • You are comfortable reasoning about ambiguous external platform behavior and turning that into robust internal abstractions.
  • You have experience designing and operating data pipelines or services that work with large-scale datasets.
  • You are familiar with cloud environments and modern engineering practices such as Git, CI/CD, Docker, and container orchestration.
  • You are comfortable collaborating with product managers and non-technical stakeholders, and can help translate platform constraints into actionable product decisions.
  • You have strong communication skills and work well across teams.
  • You care about automation, reliability, observability, and data-driven decision making.
  • We use AI-augmented development style, familiarity with Claude Code or Cursor is welcome but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with AdTech or auction-based systems is not required, but is a plus.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV. The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between $89,000.00 - $178,000.00. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description; however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be more or less experienced than this job description as posted.

Not-so-fun fact: Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of job criteria, women and other marginalized groups tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes but you’re not sure that you check every box, apply anyway!
