Your role
The Integrations Lead role is an engineering leadership role, but sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and commercial: you will work closely with product and commercial on identifying the next integration opportunities, but also lead a small engineering team to maintain the existing integrations.
-
As the Integration Lead, you take ownership of the development and maintenance of the data integrations of our Publisher product with new and existing external partners. The involves

You are the main contact for our client services team when customers flag the need for new or improved data connectors. You also interact directly with these external partners to discuss integration issues, APIs, …
-
You own the day-to-day management of a small engineering team and provide technical leadership. Bringing clarity to the team about priorities and progress is an important aspect of your role, as well as identifying structural improvements that make you and your team more efficient in the long term.

You will work in the JVM technology stack, using Java and/or Kotlin as the main development languages. Knowledge of API technologies like OpenAPI, AsyncAPI and/or gRPC is crucial.
-
Leveraging AI tools, e.g. Cursor, CoPilot, Gemini, … to accelerate the development of new data connectors & integrations is expected. You combine this with a thorough review process and quality mindset, where automated QA is integrated from the start of the development process.
-
You work with international teams, located in different time zones (Eastern Europe to West Coast USA), and occasionally travel internationally.
We realize your background might be different than ours, and we welcome it. Rather than requiring very specific technical knowledge, we think it’s important to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of software development and data modeling.

Communication, both to technical and non-technical stakeholders, comes naturally to you.
-
You already have some first team lead/people management experience, or are looking to take your first steps in such a role.
-
You are familiar with most of our technology stack (JVM, i.e. Java / Kotlin) and cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery). Experience with semantic data modeling is a big plus, e.g., through Cube.dev, RDF, …
-
You maintain an open and critical mind, embracing the fact that those around you may challenge your ideas.
-
You are excellent at articulating your reasoning and making your assumptions explicit in English. Having good proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
