The Director, Business Transformation – D5 Deployment Lead plays a critical leadership role within the Magellan Program, BSC’s enterprise-wide ERP system upgrade and transformation program, serving as the strategic deployment leader responsible for planning, coordinating and executing successful deployments across U.S. distribution and commercial businesses. This role leads deployment activities from mobilization through hypercare, ensuring business readiness, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation and operational continuity throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Serving as the primary bridge between program teams, business leaders, functional stakeholders and site leadership, this position is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality deployments that achieve program objectives while minimizing business disruption. Success in this role requires exceptional collaboration, influencing, relationship-building and change leadership skills, along with the ability to drive alignment across complex, cross-functional organizations.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to work from one of our offices in Maple Grove, Minnesota; Arden Hills, Minnesota; or Marlborough, Massachusetts, at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:
● Lead end-to-end deployment activities for U.S. distribution and commercial businesses, ensuring successful execution from mobilization through hypercare.
● Serve as the primary deployment leader and strategic partner for business and program stakeholders throughout the deployment lifecycle.
● Establish deployment scope, release strategy and deployment plans in partnership with Product Owners and program leadership.
● Drive execution excellence while balancing business priorities, resource constraints and program commitments.
● Establish and facilitate deployment governance forums, steering committees and decision-making processes.
● Monitor deployment progress, key milestones, dependencies and critical deliverables.
● Oversee deployment activities and proactively escalate risks, issues and decisions requiring leadership intervention.
● Provide clear, concise deployment status reporting to executive sponsors, program leadership and business stakeholders.
● Build strong partnerships with site leadership, regional leadership teams, business stakeholders and program teams.
● Drive stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure alignment, commitment and deployment readiness.
● Lead communications regarding deployment activities, business impacts, milestones, risks and escalation needs.
● Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive-level communications.
● Influence across organizational boundaries to remove barriers, resolve challenges and achieve deployment objectives.
● Lead site and regional readiness planning and execution activities.
● Validate enabling team approaches with a strong focus on end-user impact and business adoption.
● Partner with Change Management, Training and Communications teams to support successful organizational adoption.
● Identify, assess and manage deployment risks in collaboration with local site and regional teams.
● Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize business disruption and deployment impacts.
● Drive proactive issue resolution and risk escalation processes.
● Partner closely with the Cutover Manager to coordinate deployment cutover activities and execution plans.
● Ensure cutover plans address site and regional operational requirements while maintaining business continuity.
● Lead deployment readiness reviews and support go-live decision-making processes.
● Oversee hypercare planning and execution to ensure stabilization objectives are achieved and business needs are met.
● Drive issue resolution and stakeholder communication during critical deployment periods.
Required qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Operations or a related field.
● Minimum of 10 years' experience leading large-scale business transformation, ERP, digital transformation or enterprise deployment programs.
● Demonstrated success leading complex global or regional deployments across multiple business functions.
● Experience managing executive stakeholders and influencing decisions within highly matrixed organizations.
● Strong experience in program management, governance, risk management and deployment execution.
● Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and deliver results in fast-paced transformation environments.
● Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
● Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority across global, cross-functional organizations.
Preferred qualifications:
● Advanced degree in Business or a related discipline, such as an MBA.
● Experience leading enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives.
● Experience within manufacturing, supply chain, operations, quality or other regulated industries.
● Professional certification in Program Management, Project Management, Change Management or a related discipline.
● Experience supporting large-scale ERP implementations, including SAP S/4HANA transformations.
This role is instrumental in translating the Magellan Program strategy into successful business outcomes by ensuring deployments are executed with rigor, partnership and a relentless focus on business readiness and operational continuity.
