Responsibilities

Maxlinear is seeking a Principal Software Engineer who can lead the development of next-generation wireless / broadband products, such as Multi‑gigabit WiFi, Routers, Mesh networks and Distributed systems. In this role, you will focus on:

Lead the development of cutting-edge multi-gigabit Wi-Fi access points, broadband routers, mesh networks, and distributed systems
Develop and design pre- and post-silicon drivers and software for next-generation Wi-Fi, IoT, and smart gateway SoCs
Work with strong knowledge of WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and contribute to next-generation protocols like 802
Analyze kernel crash dumps, rcu stalls, and other call traces to resolve issues in the system
Participate in peer code and design reviews and interface with ASIC, algorithm, and systems engineers

Qualifications

15 + years of relevant experience in WLAN driver / firmware development
Strong knowledge of WLAN protocols
Expertise in Embedded Linux software and C/C++
Experience with kernel-level WLAN driver development
Familiarity with open source hostapd and supplicant
Plus: Knowledge of 802.11be, RF, and exposure to WiFi certification programs(e.g. Wi-Fi 7,Wi-Fi 6, MBO, 11ax, 6E) is beneficial
Lead the development of cutting-edge multi-gigabit Wi-Fi access points, broadband routers, mesh networks, and distributed systems
Firmware & Driver Development
Develop and design pre- and post-silicon drivers and software for next-generation Wi-Fi, IoT, and smart gateway SoCs
