About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design a common data access layer across the Health vertical, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability for platform and AI use cases across WebMD, Medscape, PulsePoint, and affiliates while also ensuring privacy and compliance.
- Architect large scale, automated data analytics processing for efficiency and quality.
- Define data architecture blueprints, and metadata management approaches.
- Partner with product, engineering, and data centralization teams across the Health vertical to migrate existing data pipelines, dashboards, automations, and reports into the centralized framework.
- Develop and enforce data standards, governance, and modeling best practices across multiple business units.
- Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms to support large-scale data integration and analytics needs.
- Provide perspective and recommendations regarding on-prem vs. external cloud-based data base processing for different use cases and applications from a technical, support, and cost perspective.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Health brands to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business goals.
- Work closely with Data Engineering teams to guide implementation, ensuring architecture designs are executed effectively.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and privacy requirements across regulated healthcare environments (e.g., HIPAA).
- Provide leadership in data architecture reviews, performance tuning, and scalability planning.
- Stay up to date on industry trends to continuously improve the organization’s data ecosystem.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms that integrate multiple products and affiliates.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and modern data warehouse/lakehouse solutions (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and master data management.
- Experience with compliance and privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR preferred).
- Experience in healthcare data ecosystems (clinical data, claims data, provider/consumer platforms).
- Hands-on experience with marketing and media data and platforms (Google, Adobe, SFMC)
- Hands-on experience with real-time/streaming data architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).
- Understanding of data science and machine learning platform integration.
- Strong ability to collaborate across teams and verticals to drive alignment on architecture strategy.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage executives, business teams, and engineers alike.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in organizations with multiple brands or affiliate structures, integrating disparate data systems.
Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $165,000.00
Bonus Eligible: This position is also eligible for a discretionary company bonus, based upon business results.
