Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How You Will Achieve More:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Research Associate to join our Delivery Sciences' Team. If you are passionate about driving innovation in the rapidly advancing lipid nanoparticle field and working with cutting-edge gene-editing technology such as CRISPR, come join us!

This role will lead and support in vitro testing of lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery and therapeutic gene editing applications. You will work closely with a Senior Scientist and collaborate with scientists and teams across Intellia, including experts in cell biology, genomics, and in vivo pharmacology.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and execute in vitro potency evaluations of lipid nanoparticles in cell lines and primary cells
  • Apply and optimize state-of-the-art methods for the assessment of genetic cargo delivery, including Flow Cytometry and Next Generation Sequencing
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of experiments in an electronic lab notebook (ELN)
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, communicate results, and propose hypotheses to diverse scientific audiences
  • Contribute to the troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing assays and workflows
  • Support lab operations, including oversight of reagent and consumables inventory

About You:

  • The ideal candidate will have a high level of scientific curiosity, independence, and integrity. They will bring proven expertise and a proactive mindset to a team setting where collaboration, delivery, accuracy, and quality are valued. You are highly motivated and passionate about working in a fast-paced, growing environment, and you demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field, with 3–5+ years of relevant industry or research experience
  • Highly proficient and independent with cell culture and aseptic technique (primary cells and cell lines maintenance and expansion). Previous experience with primary cell isolation is a plus (e.g.; MACS, EasySep or other immunomagnetic techniques).
  • Hands-on experience with genetic engineering, molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, gel electrophoresis) and protein analysis (Octet, MSD, ELISA)
  • Previous experience with Flow Cytometry is strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to multidisciplinary audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a time-critical environment
