Intellia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Associate to join our RNA Technologies team. This is a position with a primary focus on building and executing upon processes to synthesize mRNA for our lead Crispr/Cas9 gene editing programs. The ideal applicant will be able to work on mRNA synthesis and characterize mRNA quality. Experience with oligonucleotide enzymatic and/or chemical synthesis, basic nucleic acid biochemistry and molecular biology is preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities
Synthesize RNA from DNA template sources leveraging established enzymatic in vitro transcription processes to deliver high quality transcripts for downstream applications at small and medium scales.
Leverage existing workflows to purify and characterize RNAs by established methods depending on RNA scale and purpose.
Execute routine mRNA production batches to meet company’s deadlines with manager guidance.
Collaborate with colleagues to further develop enzymatic processes and analytical methods to characterize and improve key quality attributes of novel RNAs.
Provide high quality data to drive decision making in the team.
Operate and maintain multiple laboratory instruments.
Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities
Experience in small-scale and mid-scale in vitro transcription workflows.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related field or
Master's Degree.
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related field with at least 2-3 years (co-op, internship, or research assistant) experience or
Master's Degree with 0-1 years of industry experience
Physical Requirements
Optimal fine motor skills.
Prolonged periods of sitting.
Lifting/carrying lab supplies up to 20-25lbs.

The base salary for this position is expected to range between $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD per year.The salary offered is determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant education and training, overall related experience, specialized, rare or in-demand skill sets, internal comparators and other business needs. Upon joining Intellia, your salary will be reviewed periodically and additional factors such as time in role and performance will be considered. Intellia may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Additional compensation includes a performance-based annual cash bonus, a new hire equity grant, and eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards the value of which are determined annually at the Company’s discretion.
