Senior Research Associate, High-Throughput Genomics

Job Summary

Are you someone who loves problem solving in the lab or craves experience at an industry leader in gene editing, genomics, and laboratory automation? We are looking for candidates passionate about leveraging genomics and automation capabilities to drive research forward. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in Illumina NGS technology, molecular biology, and liquid handling automation. In this role you will:

  • Execute weekly high-throughput NGS amplicon sequencing library construction and sequencing runs

  • Work with liquid handling automation to support high-throughput workflows

  • Experimentally test and implement process improvements for amplicon sequencing and other genomics methods

  • Evaluate editing outcomes with ddPCR

  • Collaborate with team members, automation engineers, computational biologists, and programs/platform teams, applying genomics methods to answer research questions and troubleshoot problems

  • Monitor data quality metrics, ensuring consistent generation of high-quality data

  • Present and discuss work in team meetings

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Illumina library construction, quantification, sequencing, and data QC

  • Solid foundation in and conceptual understanding of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA purification, and adapter ligation

  • Experience with liquid handling automation (preferably Hamilton)

  • Ability to build working relationships with internal “customers” and a “customer service” mindset, including troubleshooting, prioritization, and meeting timelines

  • Experience in a high-throughput production environment preferred

  • Strong collaboration and documentation skills

  • BS or MS degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field

  • BS with 2-4 years or MS with 0-3 years of relevant experience (industry experience preferred)

The base salary for this position is expected to range between $87,300.00 - $106,700.00 USD per year.

The salary offered is determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant education and training, overall related experience, specialized, rare or in-demand skill sets, internal comparators and other business needs. Upon joining Intellia, your salary will be reviewed periodically and additional factors such as time in role and performance will be considered. Intellia may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Additional compensation includes a performance-based annual cash bonus, a new hire equity grant, and eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards the value of which are determined annually at the Company’s discretion.
