Founding Full Stack Engineer

About the company

HubFlow is a well-capitalized early-stage startup transforming the logistics industry by automating freight appointment scheduling for brokers and carriers. Our agentic AI radically improves efficiency and helps to reduce CO2 emissions in the $1T US trucking industry.
In May 2025, we raised a $2.3M pre-seed round led by Bling Capital, with participation from notable industry angels. We have paying customers, an ambitious roadmap, and a clear path to $1M ARR by the end of 2025.
We are a remote-first company and an equal opportunity employer.

About the role

We’re hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to be one of our earliest team members in the US. This role comes with the opportunity for meaningful equity ownership. You’ll collaborate closely with our founding team to design, build, and scale HubFlow’s core scheduling automation platform, used by some of the largest trucking companies in the United States.
You’ll work across the stack—from designing APIs and backend systems in Python to building polished, performant frontend interfaces in TypeScript/React. You’ll help us deliver reliable, enterprise-grade software while moving quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL.
Build intuitive, performant UIs and dashboards with TypeScript, React, Vite, Orval, and ShadCN.
Deploy, monitor, and maintain systems on AWS, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
Collaborate with our AI/ML engineers to integrate AI/LLM-driven systems into production workflows.
Take ownership of features end-to-end—from product discussions and architecture to deployment and iteration.
Contribute to building team culture and engineering best practices as an early technical hire.

Qualifications

You should apply if:
You have 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong skills in both Python and TypeScript.
You’re comfortable designing, building, and maintaining systems across the backend and frontend stack.
You have experience deploying and running services in AWS.
You’re motivated by ownership and impact—ready to work closely with founders to ship quickly and learn from customers.
You’re excited to join an early-stage startup where you’ll wear many hats.

Nice to have

Familiarity with AI/LLMs (e.g., integrating APIs, RAG, agentic systems).
Experience in logistics, supply chain, or freight.
MLOps or data engineering experience.
Prior startup experience or having been a founder.
Experience contributing to developer productivity and tooling.

About the team

You should expect ambitious, intense, and interesting coworkers who still like to have fun. You will be joining a team with considerable experience in logistics, product, and applied AI:
Scott has been head of engineering at a startup, taking it from $0 → $3M in revenue and hiring a team of 10 engineers. He also got an AI/ML-focused PhD in 3.5 years and holds multiple patents and peer-reviewed publications related to AI modeling.
Nick started his logistics career 12 years ago moving containers to Iraq, and most recently was a Senior Product Manager at Uber Freight, where his team built many of the core brokerage automation products.
