You bring together creative expertise, user-centered thinking, and a working knowledge of AI capabilities to deliver elegant, scalable, and accessible experiences. You collaborate cross-functionally to ensure our products align with user needs and business goals, and you actively contribute to evolving our design system, processes, and culture.</p> <p>You are highly skilled at navigating ambiguity, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and empowering your team to do their best work. You build strong partnerships across product, engineering, and research, and you know how to use AI thoughtfully: to accelerate your practice, sharpen your output, and ship better experiences for users who depend on them.</p> <p>Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.</p> <p><strong>What you do each day:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead a small team of product designers, setting direction, providing feedback, and supporting their growth</li> <li>Translate product strategy into elegant, user-centered design solutions through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals</li> <li>Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define problems, explore solutions, and ship high-quality experiences</li> <li>Conduct and synthesize user research and usability testing to validate decisions and uncover new insights</li> <li>Bring sharp judgment to every AI decision, evaluating where it genuinely adds value for our customers, pushing back when it doesn't, and carrying that perspective into discovery, prioritization, and design.</li> <li>Design AI-assisted experiences with care, accounting for error states, confidence signals, transparency, and feedback loops, and hold a clear quality bar for every AI interaction we ship.</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement by refining design processes, tools, and team rituals</li> <li>Balance user needs with business goals to prioritize impactful design work</li> <li>Present and communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership</li> <li>Foster a culture of collaboration, feedback, and inclusivity within the design team</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field</li> <li>Proven people management experience, including mentoring designers and guiding design work</li> <li>Strong portfolio demonstrating experience designing complex digital products across platforms</li> <li>Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (i.e. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)</li> <li>Experience working with and evolving design systems at scale</li> <li>Deep understanding of user-centered design, accessibility, and interaction design best practices</li> <li>Experience collaborating in agile product teams</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve workflows, streamline execution, or enhance outputs</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent work experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>What will help you succeed:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a growth mindset</li> <li>Excellent communication and storytelling ability to advocate for design</li> <li>High emotional intelligence and a passion for supporting others</li> <li>Ability to navigate ambiguity and balance strategic thinking with tactical execution</li> <li>Curiosity for how people think, behave, and interact with technology</li> <li>Exceptional breadth of interest shown through tangible, self-initiated ventures or deep community involvement; you love trying new things and may possess a demonstrated history of successfully pivoting or starting over in life and work</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em>This role is open to candidates and the expected salary range for this role is </em><em>$130,000 - $142,000 + equity</em><em>. The specific salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible to participate in Housecall Pro’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability), employee assistance program, 401(K), flexible time off, paid parental leave, tech reimbursement, and other company benefits.
