Staff Front-End Engineer (On-Site)
We’re looking for a product-obsessed front-end engineer with impeccable design taste—someone who can take a fuzzy 0→1 idea, sketch the experience, and ship a UI that customers rave about. Shipping a product at Henry means taking total ownership of the process from design, to release and getting customer feedback within minutes of launching. What You’ll Do- Own the Experience End-to-End – brainstorm with founders and users, prototype off of Figmas with our design team, implement in TypeScript/React/Tailwind, and push to prod the same week.
- Architect for Scale & Delight – design front-end systems that are fast, accessible, and resilient, while sweating the details of motion, typography, and responsiveness.
- Shape a 0→1 LLM-Native Product – craft UIs that harness cutting-edge AI features, turning raw model output into magical workflows for brokers.
- Measure, Learn, Iterate – instrument everything, study real usage, and refine until every click feels obvious and every animation feels inevitable.
- Raise the Bar – mentor teammates, codify design patterns, and champion a culture where code reviews double as design critiques.
- 8+ years shipping production front-end for customer-facing products (React/Preact or similar).
- Fluency in TypeScript, modern build tooling, and component-driven architecture.
- A portfolio that proves exceptional visual and interaction design judgment.
- Bias for action & radical ownership—you unblock yourself and others.
- Comfort working five days a week in our NYC office; we believe the best ideas happen face-to-face.
- Prior 0→1 startup experience—wearing many hats and thriving amid ambiguity.
- LLM or AI-driven UI experience (prompt design, streaming updates, real-time collaboration).
- Deep knowledge of performance, accessibility, and animation best practices.
- Object oriented BE experience (preferably in Golang)
