As a Clinical Materials Handler, you will:
Be responsible for managing the receipt, labeling, storage, and distribution of laboratory reagents and supplies to the production floor. More than a run-of-the-mill warehouse associate, successful candidates will need to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strict adherence to standard operating procedures. The position will report to the Inventory and Vendor Manager and work directly with the Production Lab and R&D departments to accurately track, record, and maintain the right amount of raw materials and supplies where they’re needed. The successful candidate will have experience in working across different functional areas and multitasking, paying great attention to detail with manual inputs and data management, and have a keen eye for continuous improvement.
Some of the tasks and responsibilities of the materials handler are listed below, but not limited to the list.
  • Perform all work in adherence to our standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements such as ISO 13485 and FDA 21CFR Part 820, documenting nonconformances and suggesting improvements as needed
  • Accurately, expediently, and safely receive inbound materials
  • Manage daily Kanban review and refill, trigger new purchases if Kanban low
  • Check items for damage
  • Verify part and lot numbers for accuracy
  • Confirm printed information and apply labels
  • Prepare packages for outbound shipment
  • Maintain an appropriate supply of pre-built shipping boxes
  • Stock laboratories and warehouse areas with components and supplies
  • Rotate stock to facilitate first-expiry, first-out practices
  • Check for product expiration
  • Cycle count materials, investigate variances, and initiate purchase requisitions
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Other duties as assigned
Strong candidates demonstrate:
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to follow protocol and not skip steps or cut corners
  • A can-do, customer-oriented attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to collaborate across disciplines
Highly Desirable:
  • 2+ years of material handling experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment (GMP, ISO, etc.) Entry-level candidates with bachelor’s degrees in a STEM subject will be considered.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Expected Pay For This Role:
There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary 2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity
  • Expected Helix Base: $23 - 28 per hour
  • Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 5% of your annual salary

What To Expect During Your First 90 days:

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $23 – $28 per year.
