Your Impact in this Role

In this role, you'll shape how healthcare providers order Helix’s genetic tests, interact with genomic information, and deliver personalized care to their patients. You'll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and clinical experts to create intuitive interfaces that help providers leverage genomic insights effectively.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will:

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams in an agile manner to drive a cohesive and consistent experience for Helix’s Provider Portal
  • Design and iterate on a responsive web product that allows providers to easily navigate and order from our diagnostic test menu
  • Create UX design concepts, prototypes, UI specifications, and assets throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Conduct and contribute to user research, translating insights into strategic design solutions
  • Help define and implement user experience and design principles for the provider portal
  • Contribute to the design team's culture through collaboration, feedback, and process improvement
  • Lead end-to-end design processes from discovery to delivery for the provider portal
  • Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs that simplify complex genomic information
  • Conduct user research with healthcare providers to understand their needs and workflows
  • Design clear data visualizations that help providers interpret genomic results
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Contribute to our design system and maintain consistent user experiences
  • Advocate for provider needs and usability best practices

About you:

  • 6+ years of experience leading design for healthcare, enterprise, and/or data-oriented platforms
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process skills, including product thinking, user research, interaction design, and visual design
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners to understand business objectives, identity opportunities, and create effective design solutions that drive business results
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Framer, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with data visualization and designing for complex workflows
  • Experience building scalable design systems and component libraries to maintain design consistency and streamline collaboration across product teams.
  • Proficiency managing organized file and naming conventions that improve team efficiency, design handoff, and overall project workflow.
  • Familiarity with web content accessibility guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design decisions to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience in or passion for healthcare and/or genomics

  • Competitive Compensation: A strong base salary plus an annual performance bonus.
    • Expected Helix Base: $95,000-$130,000 MXP/monthly
    • Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 5% of your annual salary

  • Allowances & Stipends:
    • Home Office Stipend: we will reimburse up to $500 USD for essential workspace items, so you are fully equipped to perform your best.
    • Phone Allowance: 700 MXP monthly.
    • In-Office Perks: 80 MXP daily for transport and 250 MXP daily for snacks on office days.
  • Generous Time Off: Flexible vacation policy plus all national holidays.
  • Hybrid & Remote Flexibility:
    • Hybrid: Our office is located at WeWork - Varsovia, Mexico City. We gather intentionally in our office space once per week to work on things like pair programming/live collaboration, skillshare sessions, social segments, team lunches, and volunteering opportunities. Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX.
    • Remote (for team members living 80 km or more outside Mexico City): We'll invite you to our CDMX office 3-6 times a year for key training and team meetings. These visits are a great chance to connect in person and strengthen our Helix community. Helix cover travel and accommodation.

Initial 30/60/90 Day OKRs:

  • 30 Day:
    • Become deeply familiar with the workflows, touchpoints, and users of the provider experience
    • Step in as the main designer for the provider product team
    • Develop relationships with product, engineering, and UX research team members, along with direct cross-functional stakeholders
    • Gather in-depth understanding of the projects currently on the design and product roadmaps for the participant experience
  • 60 Day:
    • Audit existing functionality in each of the provider experience touchpoints and log recommendations
    • Execute existing design projects related to the current design and product roadmaps
    • Become the primary point of contact for design of the provider experience to influence cross-functional communication and understanding
  • 90 Day:
    • Establish upcoming design roadmap in collaboration with product and engineering triad
    • Gain an understanding of how design is involved on the rest of the product verticals and overall business
    • Contribute to the Helix design system
    • Start executing projects related to the their self-generated design roadmap, in relation to the product roadmap
