Overview
GitHub is expanding its Global Regional Marketing team and seeking an experienced marketing leader to help accelerate growth, customer engagement, and developer adoption across India. As a Senior Marketing Manager, India, you will lead regional marketing strategy and execution for one of GitHub’s fastest-growing and most strategic markets globally.
This role requires a highly strategic, data-driven, and collaborative marketer who can connect global priorities to regional execution while building integrated programs that drive measurable business impact. The ideal candidate has experience operating across enterprise and developer audiences, partnering closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders, and scaling marketing programs in fast-paced technology environments.
You will play a critical role in shaping GitHub’s presence across India through integrated campaigns, executive engagement, field and developer programs, community initiatives, partner activations, and customer marketing experiences that strengthen GitHub’s brand and accelerate pipeline and adoption outcomes.
Responsibilities
Lead the regional marketing strategy for India, aligning global business priorities to local market opportunities and customer needs.
Drive integrated marketing programs and campaigns across enterprise, developer, partner, and community audiences to generate pipeline, accelerate adoption, and increase brand awareness.
Analyze business performance, pipeline contribution, customer engagement, and marketing KPIs to develop actionable insights and influence strategic planning decisions. Present findings and recommendations during regular business reviews with senior stakeholders.
Own end-to-end planning and execution of regional marketing initiatives, including executive programs, third-party events, customer experiences, developer engagement programs, digital campaigns, and integrated field marketing activations.
Partner closely with Revenue, Product Marketing, Developer Relations, Partner teams, and regional stakeholders to align marketing priorities and maximize business impact.
Develop and execute scalable test-and-learn strategies to optimize marketing performance, improve conversion rates, and enhance customer engagement outcomes.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across global and regional teams while influencing cross-functional alignment and driving execution excellence.
Track market trends, customer feedback, and competitive insights to identify opportunities for innovation, differentiation, and growth within the India market.
Ensure brand consistency and high-quality execution across all marketing programs, communications, and customer touchpoints while maintaining a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and customer experience.
Manage and optimize regional marketing budgets to maximize ROI and ensure alignment with business priorities and growth goals.
Mentor and influence peers and cross-functional partners by sharing best practices, frameworks, and learnings that help scale successful programs globally.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in business-to-business (B2B) integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or a related field
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business-to business (B2B) integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or a related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional marketing programs with measurable impact on pipeline, customer engagement, or product adoption.
- Experience partnering closely with Sales and executive stakeholders in a high-growth technology environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with experience leveraging marketing and pipeline data to influence decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year(s) experience with marketing strategy.
- 5+ years’ experience working in the software development, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, or developer tooling industry.
- 3+ years’ experience working with marketing analytics tools and technologies (e.g., Salesforce, PowerBI, Contentful, Goldcast).
- Experience marketing to both enterprise and developer audiences, with a strong understanding of regional and international marketing programs across APAC and India markets.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- AI-forward mindset with experience leveraging AI-powered tools, automation, and data-driven marketing capabilities to improve campaign performance, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and personalization at scale.
