Overview

We are currently hiring an IT Product Manager to join our CISO organization and be responsible for the internal IT Services product strategy & roadmap. You will work closely with a diverse team of Engineers, managing product life cycles across the IT owned systems and services.

You will be responsible for defining and driving the product strategy and roadmap, managing the product lifecycle from definition and planning through production and release, and analyzing product performance for necessary redesign. You will work with senior leaders to proactively determine solution needs and shortcomings within IT owned systems and services. This includes managing new demand intake, project boards, and backlogs, as well as planning and driving sprints with clear user stories and success criteria. You will manage prioritization and trade-offs while collaborating cross-functionally with design, technology, change management, Security Operations, and Risk teams to ensure timely, quality, and secure releases.


Responsibilities

Stakeholder Enablement

  • Works with senior leaders to proactively determine solution needs and shortcomings within IT owned systems and services. Directs discussions with stakeholders and vendors through active listening and questioning to identify areas for improvement. Initiates the creation of communication channels with stakeholders and removes roadblocks to improve the exchange of information. Resolves escalated, complex, and time-sensitive stakeholder issues when necessary.

  • Directs team members to translate stakeholder needs and requirements into actionable technical solutions. Serves as a subject matter expert to provide direction for configurations and customizations. Facilitates the learning of new technologies and domains among team members.

  • Develops future strategy for inter-job family initiatives and external and vendor collaborations to create effective solutions for stakeholders. Facilitates communication through various methods to align and realign leaders on end goals. Delegates tasks to leaders based on team strengths, weaknesses, and motivations. Prioritizes evolving stakeholder needs according to strategic business priorities and available resources

Solution Implementation

  • Directs collaboration with engineering teams to write software and technical solutions to support requested system changes from stakeholders and removes roadblocks as needed. Leads a team of senior managers responsible for creating integrations between platforms and internal and external GitHub systems. Assists with complex integrations when necessary.

  • Coordinates complex demonstrations of solution features to inter-disciplinary stakeholders throughout the implementation process. Creates strategic relationships with stakeholders to inform future solution creation and business outcomes. Ensures successful solution implementation within GitHub.

  • Works with senior leaders to create compliance standards.

  • Directs strategic partnerships to perform basic developer testing (e.g., unit testing, automated testing, scripting, configurations, regression testing). Enables team members to perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and assists with triaging complex bugs resulting from UAT. Uses testing data to make strategic decisions, ensures measures are visible to stakeholders, and interprets data into actionable conclusions and hypotheses.

  • Uses in-depth knowledge to assist team members and other professionals in resolving issues related to internal products and software. Ensures the creation of readiness and documentation content for end users for strategic business purposes.

Vendor Management

  • Leads cross-functional efforts with external software vendors to create strategic integrations within GitHub solutions.

  • Oversees efforts between internal and external stakeholders and manages resources to support contract renewals.

Data Handling

  • Develops effective and compliant data management strategies to be implemented by team members and leaders. Plans regular backups and data restoration for critical escalations. Develops SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data when needed.

  • Uses expertise in data models to understand system behavior and proactively prevent large-scale failures.

  • Ensures data reports are accurate and aligned with stakeholder and business needs.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in program/product management and business systems implementation

    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR Doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, or related field AND 3+ year(s) experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 14+ years experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, or related field AND 10+ years experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR Doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management and business systems implementation

    • OR equivalent experience


Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $121,800.00 - USD $323,200.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
