We’re looking for skilled sports photographers (creators) to capture the action at youth and amateur sporting events in metro areas across the United States. We're capturing the action in all sports, from football and baseball to soccer, lacrosse, basketball, cheer, and beyond. This is contract-based, weekend role for a content creator is ideal for experienced photographers who can operate independently, follow a shotlist, and deliver professional-quality images under tight deadlines.

Fastbreak is a rapidly growing leader in sports operations. Our products power professional leagues like the NBA, MLS, and NHL and our national youth sports photography service is taking off.

Responsibilities

  • Photograph athletes and fans at youth and amateur sporting events on weekends (1–3 days)
  • Follow assigned shot lists (e.g., action, team, crowd, and atmosphere shots)
  • Deliver edited, properly organized photo sets within agreed deadlines
  • Upload photos to the designated platform on time
  • Compress and resize images when required
  • Apply consistent color correction and light editing in line with brand standards
  • Maintain professionalism on-site — interacting with coaches, parents, athletes and event staff
  • Handle your own data storage and media (SD cards, backup, file transfers)
  • Communicate promptly with our Media Operations team for logistics and updates
  • Proven experience capturing photos and/or videos at sports, action and event environments
  • Strong understanding of composition, timing, and lighting for fast-paced subjects
  • You will use your own professional gear, including:
    • DSLR or mirrorless camera with high frame-per-second capability
    • Telephoto lens (e.g., 70–200mm) and backup lenses
    • Multiple formatted SD cards and backup storage
    • Laptop with editing software (Lightroom, Photo Mechanic, or equivalent)
  • Reliable transportation to and from event sites
  • Ability to work full 8-hour event days outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Must pass a background check (youth sports compliance)
  • Must be able to issue or complete invoices for completed work
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines without oversight

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience with photography and/or video capture at youth or amateur sports tournaments
  • Understanding of on-site workflow efficiency (shot selection, batch editing, file delivery)
  • Familiarity with cloud upload tools or sports photography platforms
  • Flat day rate (up to 8 hours per day. Rate based on experience and event size.
  • This is a freelance / contract position. You must be able to complete a W-9 and submit invoices for work completed.
  • Travel and/or lodging may be provided for select assignments.
