This is not an entry-level sales role. We are looking for a high-potential seller who wants to build a long-term career in enterprise technology sales.
As a Virtual Account Executive on our U.S. Mid-Market team, you will own a defined territory of private-sector accounts and be responsible for creating pipeline, winning new business, and expanding strategic customer relationships. You will work directly with IT leaders, executives, partners, and technical specialists to solve real business problems through modern networking and security solutions.
The ideal candidate is curious, competitive, coachable, and energized by prospecting. You know how to open doors, run discovery conversations, uncover business pain, and guide opportunities through a disciplined sales process.
What You’ll Do
- Build and manage a territory of mid-market private-sector accounts (typically 100–500 employees).
- Generate new opportunities through outbound prospecting, customer expansion, partner engagement, and account planning.
- Lead customer conversations focused on business outcomes such as operational efficiency, security, modernization, resiliency, and user experience.
- Execute a consultative sales process including discovery, qualification, value alignment, executive engagement, proposal development, and close.
- Collaborate closely with sales engineers, channel partners, marketing, and leadership to win complex opportunities.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and account plans within CRM systems.
- Deliver compelling presentations, demos, and business value discussions to technical and executive audiences.
- Stay informed on networking, cybersecurity, cloud, AI operations, and industry trends relevant to your territory.
- Participate in regional customer meetings, partner events, workshops, and sales training sessions.

What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of B2B sales experience with a proven record of prospecting and quota achievement.
- Technology sales experience preferred; networking, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or SaaS experience is highly valued.
- Demonstrated hunter mentality and ability to create opportunities from cold outreach and networking.
- Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with IT managers, directors, executives, and business stakeholders.
- Organized, accountable, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools.
- Willingness to travel periodically for customer, partner, and team meetings.
Bonus Points
- Experience selling into healthcare, manufacturing, retail, financial services, or logistics organizations.
- Familiarity with solution-selling methodologies such as MEDDPICC, MEDDIC, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working with channel partners.

Compensation: This role has a market-competitive OTE with an anticipated compensation range of 120,000- 145USD. The posted range reflects the amount Extreme Networks reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role upon hire. This range is set using objective, gender-neutral criteria based on skills, experience, responsibility, and working conditions. Actual compensation offered will depend on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and work location. This role is also eligible for commission on a 50/50 split, and the full benefits package described below.
