Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support enterprise networking solution sales across the ANZ region. This role is a key technical contributor within the sales process, helping design, present, and validate networking architectures that align with customer requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience across wired, wireless, and cloud-managed networks, combined with excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to support regional revenue goals.
- Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations that clearly articulate solution benefits and design principles.
- Lead discovery sessions, solution design, and technical validation for:
- Wireless LAN technologies
- Campus and edge switching
- SD-WAN solutions
- Data center network fabrics
- Cloud-managed networking platforms and related SaaS applications
- Network access control and analytics platforms
- Participate in technical assessments, Demos, proof-of-concept deployments, and architectural workshops.
- Troubleshoot complex customer environments and provide technical input during escalations.
- Utilize protocol knowledge and traffic analysis to resolve issues and optimize network designs.
- Leverage basic scripting (e.g., Python, Shell, or similar) to support automation or testing tasks.
- Act as a liaison between customers and product/engineering teams to communicate feedback and ensure solution alignment.
Technical Skills & Experience
- 5–10 years’ experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting in the networking industry.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including:
- MLAG, LACP, IGMP, PIM
- OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, VRRP, SPBM, VXLAN
- Authentication mechanisms and access policies (e.g., 802.1X, RADIUS)
- Hands-on experience with network simulation, testing tools, and packet capture analysis.
- Familiarity with major networking platforms and open networking concepts across wired, wireless, SD-WAN, and network management.
- Understanding of cloud-managed networking platforms and integration with security and automation workflows.
- Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) is an advantage for modern infrastructure environments.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in enterprise networking environments.
- · Certifications that demonstrate expertise in networking, wireless technologies, access control, cloud, and AI are strongly preferred, including a mix of vendor-neutral and industry-recognized vendor certifications, such as:
- Vendor-Neutral Certifications:
- Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) – e.g., CWNA, CWSP
- CISSP (Associate) – for access control and network security architecture
- Cloud & AI Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert – for cloud infrastructure design
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer – for cloud networking expertise
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals or AWS Certified Machine Learning –
- Specialty – for foundational AI/ML knowledge relevant to networking automation and analytics
- Vendor-Specific Certifications (preferred, but not required):
- Extreme Networks – Certified Specialist/Professional (or equivalent) – for cloud-managed networking and access control or or equivalent industry certifications
Soft Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative approach when working with internal teams and external partners.
