Job Summary: This is an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and growing company. We are seeking a highly experienced and driven individual with a background in product development, manufacturing, and integration of major subassemblies and subsystems. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our exceptional engineering team, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to ensure product build can be completed safely and optimally. This includes performing design for manufacturing, process development, tooling design, and documentation of procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop processes, procedures, tools, and instructions used to build advanced RF power systems
  • Lead advanced projects that require the assembly, integration and test of subassemblies and subsystems.
  • A leader in assessing design requirements and producibility, creatively resolving conflicting requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement software automation solutions for test stations in collaboration with test and systems teams.
  • Participate in the development of new factory setups and the introduction of new product lines.
  • The primary point of contact to disposition non-conformances identified in hardware assembly and testing
  • Develop, demonstrate, and verify innovative production processes readiness for full-scale production.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to evaluate defect data and root cause and corrective actions
  • Participate in daily and weekly production meetings
  • Interface daily with production technicians, engineering teams, and leadership.
  • Develop standards and materials to train technicians
  • Grow the manufacturing engineering skill set

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering – structures, electromechanical assembly areas
  • Deep knowledge in MES systems and developing procedures and model-based work instructions
  • Expertise in movement, lifting of heavy and or critical material
  • Solidworks or 3D modeling design experience.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety elements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of working across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to be a people manager of a small and growing group of highly skilled Mfg Engineers
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with RF Products, Electromechanical assembly, and testing.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 topics including Model-based Engineering, Automation, IoT, and Digital Thread.
  • Aerospace/Defense experience and/or military background.
  • Knowledge of Production Systems and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of RF and Power Test methodologies.
  • Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems elements.
  • Hands-on experience developing software in a programming language such as Python.

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$165,636$190,890 USD
