Decoding The Role:
Editas is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our Genomics & Bioinformatics Group. In this role, you will use various CRISPR delivery systems to execute high-throughput screens to identify lead guides across our internal programs. You will be responsible for experimental design, analysis, and summarizing screens. In addition to screening efforts, you will be responsible for inventory and distribution of reagents within Sample Management.
An ideal candidate has extensive experience handling and troubleshooting primary cells (HSC, T cells, Hepatocytes) and has experience screening in these cell types using various CRISPR delivery systems, including RNP and LNPs. The candidate should have a strong track record of creative thinking, strong drive, and the ability to be nimble while supporting multiple programs at a given time. Familiarity with liquid handling robots, such as the Biomek I7, and acoustic liquid transfers, like the Echo, is a plus.
The position requires working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a capacity for creativity and innovation to efficiently execute screens that support the company achieve corporate objectives.
Characterizing Your Impact:
As the Associate Scientist, Genomics and Bioinformatics you will:
- Contribute to experimental design, execute screens, with editing and/or functional assays as readouts for internal programs.
- Analyze and summarize screening results into proper documentation (ELN, Study Reports) and presentation slides.
- Assist with Sample Management Support.

Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in cell biology, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in industry; or M.S. in cell or molecular biology with 3+ years of relevant experience in industry
- Independently design and run screening experiments, extract gDNA, submit for sequencing, analyze, and present data
- Extensive experience handling primary cell lines. Proficient in performing cell-based assay development. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cell lines simultaneously.
- Proficient in multi-color flow cytometry, including design and data analysis using FlowJo.
- Experience working with different screening modalities such as guide RNAs and LNPs.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate both RNP and LNPs
- Capable of independently using data analysis software such as PRISM, Tableau
- Desire to learn new techniques and share expertise with colleagues
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills fostering effective teamwork
Fundamentals That Set You Apart
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in executing and analyzing functional assays including ELISAs and western blots
- Familiar in molecular biology analyses such as qPCR and ddPCR
- Prior experience operating lab automation including both liquid handling robots (Biomek I7s, Mantis, Echo) and plate readers (Envision). Bonus if prior experience writing methods on liquid handling robots.

Salary Range:
$105,000 - $118,000

The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive assessment of the candidate's qualifications, including education, training, and relevant experience.
