Customer & GTM Engineer
Drafter
About Us
Drafter is building a go-to-manufacturing platform for the world’s most critical hardware, with an AI Manufacturing Engineer that understands design intent and automates real work.
Our customers include the most exciting startups and the most established hardware orgs in the world. Drafter software supercharges efficiency and quality of mechanical teams as they move to manufacturing, reducing production cycles by months, giving engineers 30%+ of their time back for high-leverage work, and ensuring quality and standardization for the robots, energy systems, rocket ships and medical devices they bring to market.
Non-Negotiables
The Responsibilities and Qualifications below outline the general arc of the role, and candidates will come in many shapes and from many backgrounds. That said, there are a few must-haves:
-
Hustle: success in this role demands relentless drive. Startups win by outworking the competition. If you thrive in high-intensity, intellectually stimulating environments and take pride in pushing the pace, you’ll fit right in
-
Team Player: we’re a remote-first team, which means communication is everything. To win, you’ll need to over-communicate, over-collaborate, over-plan and over-support your teammates
-
Mission Alignment: all the hard work is in service of meaningful impact. When we win, it will be well worth it. If you’re excited to help engineers and manufacturers build the future — whether that’s exploring space, advancing robotics, or developing life-saving medical devices — then you’ll find purpose here
The Role
This is a high-ownership role for someone with a mechanical engineering background who wants to move closer to customers, product, and company-building.
You might be a recent graduate or early-career mechanical engineer who realized you are just as excited by understanding customers, solving ambiguous problems, and helping shape a business as you are by pure technical work. You want to work with real engineering teams, understand how products get adopted inside world-class hardware organizations, and help turn customer pain into product direction and commercial momentum.
You will work directly with Drafter’s founders and across sales, customer success, product, and marketing. Your role will sit at the center of how we win: helping customers adopt Drafter successfully, helping prospects understand its value, and helping our team learn quickly from the field.
This is an intentionally broad role. Over time, as Drafter grows and as your strengths become clear, you may lean more into sales, product, customer success, solutions engineering, or a broader founder-style operating path.
