The Company

Delos Financial Technologies (“Delos”) is a burgeoning start-up with aspirations to be a next-generation FinTech marketplace for private credit opportunities. Delos was founded by industry veterans with expertise in data analysis, investment strategy, and financial product innovation. They have experience in developing an iconic industry-standard financial product like the FICO Score as well as creating bespoke credit risk management processes that generated some of the best returns in the MPL industry.

Delos Marketplace will empower investors to unlock untapped opportunities, simplifying the investment process, saving investors resources without sacrificing a rigorous due diligence process.

The Role

The Head of Engineering’s primary role is to define and execute the company’s overall technology strategy. The Head of Engineering will be empowered to make infrastructure decisions, ensuring technical excellence, versatility, safety and soundness, and scalability in the architecting and engineering of our marketplace, as well as managing all technical delivery.

Strategic Focus (In order of importance):

• Develop and implement APIs for Delos’ Second Look program. Execution run time will be paramount. This involves building an end-to-end system to collect input data and track credit decision outcomes. Tech stack: Node.js, PostgreSQL.
• Plan and develop a scalable data environment. A robust ETL process that standardizes data from multiple lenders is essential. Tech stack: AWS Glue, Apache Spark / PySpark.
• Develop and maintain the Delos Marketplace Investor Portal. Must handle large data efficiently without compromising UX. Tech stack: React.js, Next.js, Node.js.

General Responsibilities

• Define and execute the product roadmap with the founders.
• Set priorities and goals balancing long-term vs immediate needs.
• Architect a scalable technology stack with automation in mind.
• Manage partnerships, platforms, and vendor relationships.
• Create and manage the engineering hiring plan and oversee development partners.
• Actively participate in coding and reviewing.
• Champion agile practices, CI/CD, and automation testing.
• Drive continuous improvement by sharing best practices and insights.
• Perform technical reviews with attention to testability, security, scalability, operability.
• Manage hardware/software licenses and forecast future needs.
• Oversee data security, governance, and compliance.

• Is selfless, collaborative, and technically strong.
• Can co-build a world-class tech organization alongside analytics-driven founders.
• Is creative and flexible in early-stage environments while also introducing structure gradually.
• Balances speed-to-market with thoughtful, rigorous engineering decisions (especially critical in FinTech).

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s in CS, Engineering, Info Systems (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years in full-stack engineering; 5+ years leading and scaling teams.
• Proven experience building enterprise-wide and SaaS tech platforms.
• Strong software architecture background; built products from early to mature stages.
• Familiar with: AWS CodePipeline, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, Vercel.
• Docker/containerization and deployment pipeline skills.
• Experienced managing remote teams and cultivating strong culture.
• Broad engineering knowledge across languages, frameworks, and trends.
• Skilled in leading major initiatives and integrating multi-unit teams.
• Strong communicator with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse teams.
• Humble, open-minded, inclusive.
