Job Summary

The Senior Director, Human Resources Operations leads a team of people responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's total rewards and benefit strategies including compensation, benefits, and recognition programs. In addition the incumbent has responsibility for Crossover HRIS and Payroll systems, process and strategies. This role ensures that the total rewards and benefits programs are competitive, aligned with business objectives, and support the attraction, retention, and motivation of employees.

Job Responsibilities

Direct Operations Strategy

This role plays a key role in analyzing claims and utilization data of our self-funded medical plans to help meet our benefit program goals and end points.

  • Lead and develop a team of total rewards and benefits professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure the integration and alignment of total rewards with overall business strategy.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all total rewards-related matters.

  • Devise and implement cutting edge benefit solutions designed to reduce costs and improve outcomes for our employees and their dependents.

  • Manages medical insurance program execution for XO employees (using our own innovative health care delivery model) in order to achieve cost savings, identified metrics, and overall service quality goals.

  • Provides matrix leadership to all stakeholders involved in the medical insurance program, including TPAs, Account Management, Business Intelligence, and the program’s Medical Director, following up to ensure end points are achieved.

  • Partners with XO’s Medical Director to analyze claims and utilization data in order to develop proposals for new programs that improve outcomes, lower costs, and provide a strong member experience.

  • Manages and executes various health and welfare benefits including, but not limited to medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, perks, and commuter benefits.

  • Stays ahead of industry trends and areas of importance by researching new innovations and best practices and shares suggestions with XO’s Benefits Committee. Develop new offerings and make recommendations for improvement to maintain XO’s leadership position.

Direct Compensation Program

  • Oversee the development and administration of salary structures, incentive plans, and executive compensation programs.

  • Manage the annual compensation review process, including merit increases, promotions, and equity adjustments.

  • Ensure compliance with all compensation-related regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Design compensation structures, benefit programs, and recognition initiatives that attract and retain top talent.

  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure the competitiveness of total rewards programs.

  • 401k management and administration

Direct Health, Financial, and other Employee Benefit Programs

  • Evaluate and select benefit providers and negotiate contracts to optimize value and service.

  • Ensure compliance with all benefit-related regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Develop and implement employee recognition programs to enhance engagement and performance.

  • Manage service awards, performance bonuses, and other recognition initiatives.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of recognition programs and make adjustments as needed.

Direct the HRIS and Payroll Functions

  • Leads HR initiatives related to payroll processing, payroll records, Workday processes and procedures. Provides leadership for strategies and training when needed to the leadership team and entire organization.

Direct Employee Total Rewards Communication

  • Develop and deliver communication strategies to ensure employees understand and appreciate their total rewards.

  • Provide training and resources to managers and employees on total rewards programs and policies.

  • Ensure transparency and accessibility of total rewards information.

Direct HR Operations Analytics and Reporting

  • Analyze and report on total rewards data, including compensation, benefits, and recognition program metrics.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis and market trends.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track the effectiveness of total rewards programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Business

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in compensation and benefits, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Experience in designing and managing executive compensation and equity programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to wage and hour laws, disability regulations and leave requirements.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare Industry Experience

  • Master’s degree.

  • Strong consultation and facilitation skills

The base pay range for this position is $177,104.00 to $247,946 per year. Pay range may vary depending on work location, applicable knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off and 401K.
