About the role

Coursedog is hiring a Senior Manager, Event Marketing to own our full in-person events engine—70+ conferences, trade shows, and regional roundtables—plus our annual user conference. This is a player-coach role: you’ll roll up your sleeves to build plans, manage logistics, and execute on site while also managing one direct report (Senior Event Marketing Specialist). You’ll drive strategy and hands-on execution across logistics, brand presence, sales enablement, and post-event follow-through that turns interactions into qualified conversations, opportunities, and pipeline. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Marketing.

This role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $120,000–$135,000, depending on experience. The position includes a 10% performance-based bonus, bringing the total on-target earnings (OTE) to $132,000–$150,000 when goals are met.

Ready to own Coursedog’s in-person event strategy? Join us in bringing our brand to life across conferences, trade shows, and our annual user conference—creating experiences that spark conversations, fuel pipeline, and move higher education forward.

Responsibilities & Impact

  • Own the annual event portfolio (70+ industry events): calendar selection, budgeting, contracting, staffing, KPI setting, pre/during/post-event plays, and reporting.
  • Own the annual user conference: program design, speaker coordination, attendee experience, sponsor/partner components, and measurable outcomes (e.g., CSAT/NPS, product education impact, influenced pipeline).
  • Run regional roundtables to engage customers and users; coordinate content, invitations, and sales participation to create high-quality meetings.
  • Deliver a cohesive in-person brand experience across all touchpoints (booth, sessions, meetings, dinners, signage) with consistent messaging and visual standards.
  • Manage 20’x20’ booth & asset inventory: vendor oversight, shipping, material handling/drayage, storage, maintenance, on-site execution; create SOPs to control cost and risk.
  • Swag strategy & logistics: negotiate vendors, forecast demand, route shipments to field events and sales, and manage returns/reconciliation.
  • Sales alignment & pipeline impact: drive ICP-targeted meetings, on-site demos, and rigorous post-event follow-ups in partnership with Sales and RevOps/Marketing Ops.
  • People leadership: manage one direct report — the Senior Event Marketing Specialist — with clear goals, enablement, and coaching.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 5–7+ years in B2B event/field marketing for enterprise SaaS, with a track record of turning events into qualified conversations and opportunities.
  • Proven leadership of high-velocity event calendars (50+ annually) with budget ownership and vendor negotiation.
  • Deep working knowledge of trade-show logistics: freight, advanced warehouse vs. direct-to-show, material handling/drayage, I&D labor/EACs, and show regulations.
  • Hands-on with marketing technology (e.g., CRM, lead capture, meeting schedulers, event platforms); bonus: CVENT experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across Sales, CS, Product Marketing, Partners, and Execs; crisp written and verbal communication.
  • Thrives in a player-coach capacity: comfortable executing details (e.g., shipment tracking, on-site builds, vendor escalations) while setting strategy and leading a teammate.
