About Our Culture
Our mission to change behavioral health starts with us and how we operate. We don’t want to just change behavioral health, we want to change the way startups operate. Here are a few tactical examples:
1) Improving accessibility and quality of healthcare is something we live and breathe. Everyone on Camber’s team cares deeply about helping clinicians and patients.
2) We have to have a sense of humor. Healthcare is so broken, it's depressing if you don't laugh with us.

About The Role
Camber is looking for engineers who are passionate about making healthcare more accessible and affordable. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Product team, you’ll be building user-facing products from the ground up — meeting directly with clinicians and administrators, exploring greenfield project, and shipping fast, iterative improvements based on real-world feedback. You'll be on the frontlines of building products that directly shape the daily lives of providers and the patients they serve.

What you’ll do:

  • Build full-stack features that deliver simple, well-crafted product experiences that our customers love.
  • Explore greenfield opportunities, prototyping quickly from 0 to 1 to discover new insights and product surface areas.
  • Talk to users, working closely with clinicians and administrators to deeply understand their workflows and needs.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working on production systems.
  • Mission-driven mindset: Driven to empower clinicians with product experiences that lets them focus on providing care, not manual check-the-box work.
  • Customer Empathy: Our engineers need to understand our customers’ pain points to build products that meet their needs.
  • Curiosity: We look for engineers who love learning new things. We don’t expect you to know everything about the technologies we’re using or our industry, as long as you’re curious and interested in learning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a founding or early engineer, with experience building from 0 to 1.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, React, Python, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience directly interacting and working with customers, translating user needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive comp: $160,000 - $200,000 a year + stock options.
  • Insurance: We cover 100% of the premium for an Aetna national plan, as well as dental and vision coverage.
  • Wellness: If you see a therapist who’s out of network we’ll reimburse up to $100/week. We also provide $100/month reimbursement for general wellness.
  • Much more: 401k, commuter benefits, daily team lunch! For a full list of perks and benefits see our Notion doc.
Camber is based in New York City, and we prioritize in-person and hybrid candidates. Please refer to the top of this page for this position's hiring location.
Building an inclusive culture is one of our core tenets as a company. We’re very aware of structural inequalities that exist, and recognize that underrepresented minorities are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t think they meet all of the requirements. If that’s you and you’re reading this, we’d like to encourage you to apply regardless — we’d love to get to know you and see if there’s a place for you here!
In addition, we take security seriously, and all of our employees contribute to uphold security requirements and maintain compliance with HIPAA security regulations.
