Job Description

What You'll Do

As an Instructional Designer, you will create impactful learning experiences that equip employees and learners with the skills and knowledge needed to meet organizational goals and close performance gaps. Your goal is to build training programs — grounded in the backwards design framework — that align learning goals, content, and assessments to measurable results. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, facilitators, and team members across the organization to ensure every learning experience is relevant, effective, and built with the learner's needs at the center.

You will report to the Manager, Learning Strategy & Design

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Design and develop instructional materials — including eLearning courses, workshops, and blended learning solutions — using backwards design and outcome-based development principles.
  • Partner with SMEs, facilitators, and team members to identify performance gaps and translate organizational needs into structured, learner-friendly content.
  • Measure program effectiveness using formative and summative assessments, applying frameworks such as Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation to refine and improve learning materials.
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, using authoring tools, learning platforms, and AI functionality to ensure delivery of high-quality content.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing learning solutions in corporate, academic, or nonprofit settings
  • Demonstrated experience applying backwards design, outcome-based development, or similar instructional frameworks
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools, multimedia design, and learning management platforms, including use of AI functionality within those tools
  • Develop clear, measurable learning objectives aligned to organizational goals and business needs
  • Experience partnering with SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and validate training content
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field
