What You'll Do

As we continue to scale, our implementation complexity is increasing across enterprise customers and multi-product deployments. We are looking for a Manager, Professional Services to lead a onboarding team and own delivery performance across a diverse portfolio.

In this role, you will be part of the Professtional Services team, reporting directly to Sr. Manager, Professional Services. You will shape our onboarding strategy, scale delivery practices, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. By leveraging AI-driven insights and operational excellence, you will strengthen customer relationships, drive product adoption, and directly impact Avalara's business growth and predictability.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a onboarding and implementation team through coaching, performance management, and targeted career development.
  • You delivery performance across a portfolio of customer implementations, ensuring successful execution, revenue realization, and strong business outcomes.
  • Serve as a key escalation point and advocate for executive customer stakeholders, proactively mitigating risks on complex or strategic engagements.
  • Establish and drive consistent onboarding methodologies, governance processes, and quality standards to improve scalability and delivery predictability.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Support to remove barriers and accelerate customer time-to-value.
  • Monitor team capacity, utilization, project health, and forecast accuracy to drive strong operational and financial performance.
  • Leverage AI-driven insights and automation to optimize capacity planning, risk prediction, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Drive AI adoption across your team to automate executive reporting, improve productivity, and enhance overall onboarding efficiency.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • 8–12+ years of relevant experience within software, SaaS, implementation services, or consulting organizations.
  • 2–4+ years of people leadership experience managing project managers, program managers, or implementation delivery teams.
  • You have leadership experience managing complex, enterprise-scale customer implementations and driving strategic engagements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the senior leaders while driving cross-functional alignment.
  • Experience successfully leveraging delivery metrics, business insights, and AI-enabled tools to improve organizational performance, forecasting accuracy, and strategic decision-making.
  • A bachelor's degree (BE, B.Tech, BCA, MCA) from an accredited college or university.
