Avalara is looking for a Senior Event Manager to lead integrated event and field marketing programs that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and pipeline growth. You will oversee a broad portfolio of experiences including industry conferences, trade shows, executive programs, customer events, partner activations, and regional field marketing initiatives. You will partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations to deliver scalable programs that support our goals and enhance the attendee experience. You will report into the Director, Event Marketing.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
You will lead end-to-end execution of conferences, trade shows, field events, executive dinners, webinars, customer programs, and partner activations across multiple regions and business segments
You will manage event timelines, budgets, operational processes, vendor relationships, and onsite execution plans to ensure program delivery
You will oversee event logistics including registration management, staffing, travel coordination, shipping, sponsorship deliverables, lead retrieval, and post-event follow-up processes
You will analyze event performance metrics including attendance, engagement, sourced pipeline, influenced revenue, and return on investment to provide recommendations for future programs
You will support mentorship and guidance across the broader events team while helping strengthen operational best practices
What You'll Need to be Successful
- 5+ years of experience managing conferences, field marketing programs and corporate events
- Experience leading complex event programs with ownership of budgets, logistics, timelines, vendor coordination, and onsite execution
- Familiarity with event management, marketing, and procurement platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, Cvent, purchase order (PO) and purchase requisition (PR) systems, or similar tools
- Experience managing sponsorship deliverables, registration processes, agency and vendor relationships, and large-scale event operations
- Experience tracking and reporting on event performance metrics, budgets, and operational outcomes to support business recommendations

Pay Range Details
The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Colorado $100,300 - $160,500 (annually)
Washington $100,300 - $177,200 (annually)
California $100,300 - $194,300 (annually)
NYC $110,800 - $194,300 (annually)
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
