Avalara is growing its global go-to-market organization, and we’re looking for a senior talent leader who can help ensure that growth happens with clarity, intention, and speed.
The Talent Advisor, GTM is a strategic role embedded with Avalara’s Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations leadership teams. This position partners directly with senior leaders to shape hiring strategy, provide market insight, and guide critical talent decisions across a global organization of roughly 1,300 employees.
This role blends strategic talent advisory with hands-on recruiting for a small number of high-impact roles, ensuring Avalara continues to attract exceptional leaders and specialized talent while scaling as an AI-first, globally connected company.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Serve as a strategic talent partner to GTM leadership
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations leaders to understand business priorities and evolving talent needs
- Help translate growth plans and organizational priorities into thoughtful hiring strategies
- Provide talent market insight, competitor benchmarks, and hiring intelligence to inform leadership decisions
- Participate in planning cycles and leadership rhythms as the talent strategy partner
Guide strategic hiring and talent decisions
- Advise leaders on role design, hiring priorities, and talent availability across global markets
- Deliver talent mapping insights and pipeline visibility for critical capabilities
- Support thoughtful, structured hiring decisions across senior and specialized roles
Lead select high-impact searches
- Personally lead recruiting for a targeted set of niche roles where senior judgment and expertise are required
- Partner with hiring leaders on search strategy, candidate calibration, and final hiring decisions
- Deliver a high-quality candidate experience that reflects Avalara’s culture and values
Bring talent insight to the organization
- Leverage talent intelligence, market data, and emerging trends to guide hiring strategy
- Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, and TA colleagues to align hiring plans with business priorities
- Help strengthen scalable recruiting practices as Avalara continues to grow globally
What You'll Need to be Successful
- 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition within a high-growth technology or SaaS environment
- Deep experience recruiting for go-to-market roles including Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations
- Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business leaders as a trusted advisor on hiring strategy and talent decisions
- Strong understanding of how GTM organizations scale and the talent capabilities required to support growth
- Ability to translate talent market insight into practical recommendations for business leaders
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and judgment
