The mission of the Senior Strategic Alliances team is to create long-term, multi-dimensional partnerships that improve mutual revenue for Avalara and our partners and ensure client success. The Senior Strategic Alliance Manager identifies, analyzes, signs, and manages partnerships to help Avalara achieve its goals and produce new client acquisitions.
You will build on sales and marketing initiatives with mid-market (Epicor, Intacct, Sage) System Integrators and ISVs.
This role is remote with a 40-60% travel requirement. You will report to our Senior Manager, Strategic Alliances

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
You will communicate the value of Avalara's products and solutions to the channel.
You will develop specific partner plans to drive internal/external execution of goals.
You will oversee relationships at multiple levels of the Mid-market partner with the goal of sourcing qualified sales pipeline and supporting co-selling opportunities.
You will manage partner sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts to management.
You will present Avalara value message to multiple levels of an organization.
You will report on progress to plan, activities, and partner performance.
You will lead regular QBRs with channel leadership.
You will contribute to partner marketing efforts with the help of Partner Marketing Managers for marketing and co-marketing opportunities (lunch-n-learns, seminars, webinars, campaigns, and trade shows).
You will build partner profile information and contact information in CRM and other systems.
You will represent Avalara in several industry events, conferences, and associations.
What You'll Need to be Successful
5+ years of experience in channel development, business development or strategic alliances in the mid-market ecosystem.
Experience using a partner ecosystem to build and close deals by working across all levels of the organization.
Social networking presence that can be used to promote the Avalara partnership.
Experience managing multiple workstreams and prioritize competing projects.
Experience presenting both in person and online
Experience with Salesforce, Outlook, Atlassian/Jira
Collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
Pay Range Details
The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be
different in other locations.
Colorado $157,700 - $252,300 (OTE Annually) - 60/40 paymix
Washington $157,700 - $278,900 (OTE Annually) - 60/40 paymix
California $157,700 - $305,400 (OTE Annually) - 60/40 paymix
NYC $157,700 - $305,400 (OTE Annually) - 60/40 paymix
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The
successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic
location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on
the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
