What You'll Do

The Automation Team within Go-Live Operations at Avalara is looking for an Automation and AI Workflows Developer experienced in process automation platforms. You will support Avalara's automation roadmap by developing end-to-end workflows that enhance consultant productivity, data accuracy and customer outcomes. You will excel at process improvement, integration design and low code/AI tools to deliver reliable and scalable automations. You will be reporting to the Director, Technical Programmes.


What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • You will Design automation workflows and integrate automation solutions with systems such as Salesforce, Power BI, Confluence, JIRA, N8N and Avalara internal APIs.
  • Collaborate with Business Process SMEs, Analysts and Operations Leads to map manual workflows, define functional requirements and design automation logic.
  • Draft and execute test plans for new automations, conduct UAT sessions and maintain performance documentation.
  • You will create process documentation including solution design, data flow and error handling guides.
  • Prototype and implement AI-enabled automations to enhance integration, intelligence and user experience.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Graduated with degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 2–4 years of professional, hands-on experience with software development.
  • Experience integrating automations with Salesforce, Power BI, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in API-based integrations, data extraction and exception handling.
  • Understanding of test planning, UAT and process documentation.
  • Familiarity with AI workflow tools such as N8N, Glean or OpenAI API.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI) with proficiency in Python or VB.NET/ C#.
  • 3+ years of experience with Intelligent Document Processing (OCR/IDP) tools and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
