The role supports Avalara’s global Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense operations by managing invoice and expense processing activities that ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely business support. As part of the AP & T&E team, the position works closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and finance partners across regions to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency. What Your Responsibilities Will Be
The role performs day-to-day invoice and employee expense processing, including exception handling, reconciliations, and adherence to global policies and controls. Daily activities include working in ERP and T&E systems to resolve vendor and employee inquiries and support month-end close activities. The role also reviews exception trends, supports process or system enhancements as needed, and collaborates with stakeholders to improve accuracy, turnaround time, and overall process efficiency.
What You'll Need to be Successful
• 3–6 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense operations, independently managing invoice and expense processing and standard exceptions.
• Hands-on experience using ERP and T&E systems (such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or Concur) to complete daily processing, reconciliations, and close activities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage volume, meet SLAs, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience reviewing system-generated or automated exceptions and escalating trends appropriately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, data validation, and operational reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field supporting independent execution of the role.
