As a Senior Marketing Analytics Manager you will provide senior individual-contributor leadership to Avalara's Marketing organization by owning how marketing performance is measured, interpreted, and used to drive decisions. You will operate at the intersection of Marketing, RevOps, Sales, Finance, and Data, ensuring analytics frameworks are trusted, scalable, and decision-ready.
You will lead through expertise and influence, not people management, and is accountable for clarity, consistency, and effect of marketing analytics across the business.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Analytics Leadership and Measurement Strategy
Lead the definition, evolution, and governance of marketing analytics frameworks
Establish clear standards for metrics, definitions, and sources of truth
Resolve conflicting interpretations of performance data
Domain Ownership
You will own one or more major analytics domains, such as:
Full-funnel and lifecycle measurement
Attribution and ROI frameworks
Campaign, channel, and program performance
GTM and pipeline analytics
Executive and board-level marketing reporting
(Multiple Leads may exist, each with distinct domain ownership.)
Insights and Decision Enablement
Translate complex analyses into clear insights
Lead deep dives, root cause analyses, and opportunity sizing
Influence prioritization, investment decisions, and GTM strategy
Support senior leadership with decision-ready narratives, not just metrics

Marketing leadership
RevOps and Sales Ops
Finance
Global Analytics and Insights (GAI), Analytics Engineering, and BI teams
Align our needs with data models, reporting, and delivery priorities
Represent Marketing Analytics in planning and review forums
Analytics Governance and Standards
Define expectations for analytics usage, interpretation, and reporting quality
Ensure analytics outputs are trusted and scalable
Guide Analytics Engineers and BI partners on implementation priorities
Mentor senior analysts and managers through thought leadership and feedback
What You'll Need to be Successful
8–12+ years of experience in marketing analytics, growth analytics, or related fields
Oversee complex analytics domains with cross-functional impact
Experience supporting senior and executive stakeholders in decision-making forums
Understanding of marketing and GTM measurement concepts
Analytical problem-framing and structured thinking skills
Connect data to business strategy and outcomes
SQL and data literacy
Experience working with modern data stacks and BI tools
