Job Description

What You'll Do

Avalara is seeking a Senior Event Marketing Manager to lead regional and segment-based field programs that drive measurable pipeline and revenue impact. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of local activations — including executive dinners, roadshows, roundtables, and sales-aligned field events — across multiple regions or campaigns.
You will work closely with Sales, Revenue Marketing, Partner Marketing, and Events to ensure territory-level engagement ladders into broader GTM strategy. You’ll manage field marketing plans aligned to pipeline goals, sales coverage needs, and in-market feedback. This role requires strategic planning, operational precision, and a performance-first mindset.
You’ll use AI and technology to streamline execution, improve targeting, and scale your team’s impact. Most importantly, you’ll ensure field marketing is fully accountable to the metrics that matter: pipeline contribution, sales satisfaction, and marketing-influenced bookings

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

Campaign Strategy
Lead field campaign strategy across assigned segments or regions
Align event strategy to territory goals, pipeline gaps, and seller priorities
Partner with Revenue Marketing to ensure local programs are integrated into campaign planning
Campaign Execution
Oversee planning and delivery of field activations, including execution quality, staffing, and follow-up coordination
Drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Event Marketing, and Partner teams
Apply in-market feedback and performance data to iterate program mix and messaging
Channel Strategy
Own regional field calendar and format mix across assigned programs
Ensure events support both TOFU activation and mid-funnel acceleration
Prioritize event types and targeting based on conversion velocity and regional
coverage
Channel Execution
Guide team readiness across logistics, invitation workflows, and sales handoffs
Track regional performance and optimize for attendance, engagement, and opportunity creation
Improve operational efficiency across programs using AI workflows and automation
Key Metrics & KPIs
Field Marketing team members are held to monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas to support business revenue. Each individual is accountable for cuts of:
AQL, MQL, and SQL delivery from field programs
Pipeline and bookings influence by region and event type
Event performance across attendance, conversion, and ROI
Regional sales satisfaction and coverage pacing
Forecast accuracy and funnel impact of field motions

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • 5+ years of experience in field marketing, events, or GTM enablement (level-dependent)
  • Proven ability to manage multi-region or cross-segment field programs
  • Experience aligning with Sales, Revenue Marketing, and Campaigns
  • Strong reporting and performance accountability skills
  • Proficiency with tools like Salesforce, Marketo, 6sense, Splash, Goldcast, and Power BI
  • AI fluency to support segmentation, automation, and campaign optimization
  • Comfortable leading cross-functional collaboration in a high-velocity GTM environment
